It is pretty difficult to come up with a unique concept for a classic muscle car these days. Most of the swaps have already been accomplished, and while there is always room for improvement, most of the best ideas have been taken. However, that doesn’t mean there is a lack of cool or unique cars out there these days.

Take, for example, this 1969 “GT2” Mustang found over at Pro-Touring.

Highlights of this particular build include a small block Ford 351, bored out to 363 cubic inches with all forged internals, Diamond pistons, and a World Products block. A single T76 turbocharger provides forced induction through the necessary intercooler, with help from a BBK SSI-R intake. A six-speed T-56 Pro Motion transmission transfers power to a FAB9 9” rear end, and the entire suspension has been beefed up for the track.
Among those modifications are TCP leaf springs and torque arms, Varishock coilover suspension, and 13” Cobra brakes with 4-piston Brembo calipers. Shelby C556 18” wheels are wrapped in Toyo rubber, which ties the car together beautifully. The work is being taken care of by CPR Street Machines in San Diego, as the owner lives in Denmark. Those Scandinavians sure do love their muscle cars, don't they?
The car isn’t quite finished yet, but it's coming along quite nicely. This is a full restoration from the ground up, and it won’t just happen over night. However, it shows a commitment to quality, and a passion for doing things your own way.
