ok so the trans went smoothly except for finding some damage under my car.... thanks Charlie for coming over and helping, we all appreciate you always lending a hand. so the trans works great and is a hell of a lot tighter than the old 3650 (thanks Scott) and it actually knocked out another mod for me, i no longer have to gear my car since this trans has lower gears for some reason, before i could cruise in 5th doing 70mph at 2,000 RPM, now in 5th when im cruising at 60MPH im at 2,100 RPM so its a pretty big difference, anyone running a 3650 with 3.73's or 4.10's that can give me a comparison?

at 70 mph I'm at around 2800-3000 rpm. I have 4.30's

over drive has nothing to do with running 4:10's it has to do with the rate of acceleration.. just because your running a higher RPM in over drive, doesn't mean you don't need 4:10's... sounds like you went for a .62 to a .68 OVER drive... you probably have the 3.27 first gear but not the 3.38 that the mach had. every other gear is the same, 4:10s would help... your over drive will just suck now2

I think it's a GT trans. It's geared to help the shorter rpm range and they have 3.27:1 final drive gears.

you still need 4:10's
