Help, please....

Ok, I went to put in my white face for my gauge cluster. I took the needles out and marked them where they were. Well, this is when I went into problems. The needles will not go back to zero. They are all over the place. I reset them and after 2 hours, nothing. Temp, fuel, battery oil temp, nothing works, needle will not go back to zero. Now the speed will not work and the RPM also won't go back to zero. I don't know what else to do. I need help, ideas on what could be wrong.

Thanks for any assistance.....

i had the same problem when i did the gt's needle change.....at first i presed them in too far and then after that i found that it takes very minor adjustments to make huge changes....i think i moved the gearing for the needle about 2 degrees and it changed it by about 1500 rpms
