Pffft....College degrees don't mean squat.

Walk into many businesess with that degree in your hand and you STILL start at the bottom of the pay scale. Many of the federal law enforcement agencies that once REQUIRED college degrees are now accepting applicants with only GEDs and even misdemeanor convictions in case by case basis's.

Employers don't have two pay scales for new employees, WITH and WITHOUT degrees. Everyone starts at the bottom. Unless a relative or friend owns the business.

I've heard a hundred college graduates tell me their diploma didn't help them in the job market at all and it's just another neat piece of paper to frame and hang in the bathroom.

ive been taking classes using NCPACE through the navy and have a couple of classes already knocked out. plus from my rate and all my schools and NEC's i have 90+ credits from that but i know not all of them will eb accepted but some will so it helps me out in the end . the GI BILL is a great thing. i think we need to start moving on from iraq to the next bad place and more ppl will join up. iran? somolia? korea? russia? we have the best navy and airforce in the world control the sea and the skies= victory no matter what especially since we have so many bad ass TBMD capabilites what is there to be scared of?

Not to defend McCain necessarily, but I think he didn't sign on with the new GI Bill because he thought, like many do, that enlisted men and women would leave the service at their first opportunity to take advantage of the educational benefits and that this would thin the military drastically. I don't know if that's true or not or how accurate it is, but I've read that a few opponents have had that concern. I'm just glad it passed anyway. You guys deserve all you can get!
