How would you like to Drag Race?

1) Heads up: Make three passes to establish class: Line up in a category 10sec, 9sec, 8sec, 7sec and whoever wins moves on.

2) True Street: Make 3 passes to establish avg time. Then race three times. The car that is closest to it's avg time wins the event.

3) Staggered Tree: Make 3 passes to establish class/time. Race on a staggered light on the tree to eqaulize cars within the class and whoever wins without breaking out moves on.

I like the third. We do that over here for our gamblers race, or grudge race. Looks cool to see a slow and fast car finish at almost the same time.

i cant believe im the only one who wants heads up. its great to let a 15 sec car run with a 10 sec car and have a chance to win. but the bottom line is heads up, winner is the faster one. thats what i like

it's not if your better or faster then someone, it's how consistant you are and still being able to beat the other guy at the end of the track. Time is of the essence

i disagree. if i were to line my 8.7 car with yose's mid 7's car on a staggered tree and win that would prove nothing. his car is still faster, and in drag racing thats what its all about, being faster. at least to me anyways

It only prove that one has more money than the other. Or has more money invested. It takes talent to be consistent with your times. And proves that you have to have a better reaction time to win. Heads up is fine if you only have a second difff with all the cars, such as classes. This lets the average racer have a shot at winning. So your daily driver can compete with your $10k race car. I would ratherr see who wins at the end instead of knowing the drag car is gonna win heads up.

If you can go half throtle consistently, then props to you. That also lets the ones that drive their car there can race and still drive their car home without pushing it to the limits.

I would say the fairest is staggered tree. It looks better and still uses the fastest time right? I really dont care either way since all in all it is just fun and a blast to do.

ok beejay lets say you have your car that has limitations to be registered so you can only do so much to have it "qualify" for this event. then you have a 64 nova big block supercharged with nos pushing 800hp with 15" wide DOT's and he is you first race. you both stage, you both launch and he lets off the throttle at the 60ft and rolls it past the finish line with you 2 car lenghts behind. and now your done no more recey racey for you today sorry put it on the trailer

But BJ.....you forget that even in this, your 8.7 car wont run yose's 7.0 car.....it would only run in the 8.0 class.

Basically just gives those that are higher in each class a chance at winning a class......because any other way they will lose and therefore not waste their money for 1 run down the dragstrip against an obviously faster car.

kinda like pinks all out. You race all out but you have the tree staggard too. Just like starting the race with lenths. Unless you can split it done to like .2 diff in classes. An 8.9 car is still gonna pull hard on a 8.0 car.
