Honestly. My car just broke into the 7's. So I would be wasting money to run in the 7 second class. I would have to slow my car down and try to win the 8 second class. You basically competing against yourself. Either way, you will have ffun racing more and being able to move into the final races.

I think for some of the faster cars there should not be a whole seconds difference. 7.0 to 7.9 is quite a huge jump for our cars to overcome. Im just saying......

okay.....you guys have your opinion, and i have mine. and just like you i know i have no chance at winning the 8's class with an 8.7, so im either gonna run on **** tires and run 9.0's or im gonna get something special and run 8.0's.

i think that cars that are equal should race, cars that arent equal shouldnt race. hence classes. classes keep it close, but racing should be heads up.

to me its like lining up at a stoplight with some guy in a trans am. if im faster i will win, but they lights arent gonna turn green at different times so i have a better chance.

in the end i will race no matter what the rules are, this is just what i prefer.

Awesome input guys. But, just remember there are two classes that we are running MVTW True Street and MVTW Open Comp (Heads Up)

The Poll above is a way to make it even for everyone to have fun..

True street lets everyone try there hardest. (No Sandbagging)

Example:
1st Run 7.2
2nd Run 7.5
3rd Run 7.6

Avg 7.4

You have a chance for 1st,2nd,or 3rd place...

I am up for anything just wanted to get this out.. So we can discuss every option before we go live..:)

Im the same way. I like racing from light to light too. But you put you average racer on a pro tree and its a TOTALLY diff race.

A stock honda wont have the experience to stay consistent with the times. The drag car prolly will be dialed into the tenths maybe hundreths.

and all it takes is for that car to get a little outa the groove and twitch sideways, let off for a second or two and the stock honda (whos light turned grees 10 seconds ago) will cross first and win, without ever having to try.

atlblue....i know a tree is different than a light, i was just making a point on the type of racing...green means GO

(well, last yellow means go, but forget that. go GREEN)

Thats fine. I like all kinds of racing. I would still race even if I dont have a chance. A couple years ago i went to a 1/4 mile running mid to low 13's. But one pass i ran a 14.01 and got an award for the fastest 14 sec car of the day. They gave awards for just the best time slip of the day. And this was a svt club track day that travel all over the us.

So the one that stays in the grove should win. Atlhough it would be fun to win and say you got sideway, let out, and got back into it to win.

Look True street is like stop light to stop light and allows for no Sandbagging.. You meet up at the light and go sounds like heads up right... Well he runs a 7.5 and you run a 8.5. You still get to run again you have 2 more chances to win the 8.0 class.. You will not sandbag and try to run better to improve your 8.5 run remember it is going to be the average of 3 runs.

looks like heads up has some more supporters.....

Only till the first run is over then you will here how that sucks and the track doesnt hook and how they need less air pressure.......LOL

J/K Guys but that does seem to happen alot....everyone bitching about the track......I wouldnt want my night over on 1 run because of crappy track prep.

no, its not like that. the guy in the race car had to work to get that car down the track. its not easy, but the guy in the automatic civic sees green and hits the gas and wins. next thing you know he has a huge wing and exhaust and thinks hes a real race car...and then the ricers began. all with staggered lights...

ok, well thats a stretch, but sounds possible

Well BJ, that is plausible but even winning with the staggered light, you should know that your car is not faster, it is more consistent.

Just equals out the competition within each class.......

I would agree to heads up if they were split classes...... 7.0/7.5/8.0/8.5/9.0/9.5/10.0/everything else......
