That makes more sense.

My concern is if he is popping the dipstick, did he check the oil level before he took it home. Did he check it when he got home?

I checked his oil before he ran and it was fine. I did not check it when he left but I am sure it is the same amount minus maybe a cup of Robitussin that got sprayed onto the hood. His car would smoke a ton more if his rings were causing the amount of pressure or back pressure to spit out a dip stick!

I was at the Q when he popped his hood after he saw smoke coming from under the hood and the dipstick was about 6" out of the hole!! If you had no dipstick at all the car should not shoot oil out of the hole. If the pcv is working properly and you have a good ring seal that will not happen.

I speak from experience here. My Supercharged SN95 did this and I had to pull the engine, but it still hauled ass down the track. The only smoke was when the oil would spit out under the hood.

Putting a valve cover breather on will help the crankcase pressure issue, but it will cause a vacuum leak and lean idle conditiion. The pcv will suck air from the atmosphere at the breather which is unmetered by the MAF and the car will be lean at idle and may run rough at part throttle. If you use valve cover breathers than you have to plug the pcv opening.

Im not doubting you here man but I have seen ring issues and they have always had the tell tale sign of smoking. i never seen any smoke coming from his exhaust. He may have a blown ring.... I dont know. I have a compression tester if he wants to see for reals. It takes for frikken ever though!!!!

10's Hell I would like to be under 10's in the 1/8th.......LOL

I figure after I take off in reverse on green, I will stall it out when I shift to go forward....then I will miss a shift and run about a 14 second 1/8th......LOL

At 1/4 mile tracks 11.99 or 6.9 1/8 is where a cage is required. I bet Yose could get low 11s in his cobra. My dads ran a 7.2 at the Q and will do 10.7 on a 1/4.
