So today I locked my keys in the ignition :wtf: yeah... so i finally jimmied my lock and broke into my car... only to find the "theft" light blinking... just great lol. This little feature shuts off all my electronics including ignition. So I called a buddy and he told me I would have to contact ford and get my theft deactivation code. SO.. no cruisin' for a day or so :*(

PATS is Ford Motor Company's passive anti theft system. When you attempt to start the vehicle, the onboard computer sends out a RF signal that is picked up by the transponder in the key. The transponder then returns a unique RF signal to the vehicle's computer, giving it the ok for the vehicle to start and continue to run.

1. Go and get your second set of keys and try and start it.
if that doesn't work
2. take it to ford and they will reset it for you.

How did you Jimmy your lock and activate your system?

I got a clothes hangar through my passenger side seal and pulled the actual lock up, but yeah I dont have a spare set of keys (if I do I think they are actually in my car). So im gonna have to call ford and work something out, God I hope they dont charge me. I still have $50 in credit since I got my axle replaced so maybe I'll be able to use that if they feel the need to take my money.
