I need some advice on a 04 GT

So I am thinking about buying a 04 GT Deluxe 5spd for 13,500 out the door. It only has 40k on it. I have a 05 Frontier NISMO that I love but I don't need 4wd out here in Cali. I looked at the car and it is bone stock and really clean. What do you guys think?

What are you trying to achieve by buying it? A daily driver? A fast car? You could find a nice mach for 13,500.

Just a daily driver. All I would do is exhaust and intake. I just don't need my truck out here and this car is clean!

I agree. I think that price is about 2-3 K too much. Maybe you can talk them down. I also agree that a Mach might be a better way. The 2V's are fun but take quite a bit of money to make fast.

I definately agree with the overpriced. For a new daily driver I would just drive the vert then find a mach 1 or an older cobra (if your trying to stay in the 13k price range) and have that as your toy.

Its definitely over priced. You can find a 02-04 GT with similar miles for under $10k. For that price you can buy a Mach1.

Mine was $9600 and its a convertible. BTW....Mine is a 2002 and it had 56K miles and bone stock when I bought it. They're out there. Just go on website like www.autotraders.com or www.cars.com.

out the door from a dealer will always be more than a private party. It will include sales tax and registration fees, plus a profit to them.

If you want to spend less go private party. You'll still have to spend the tax dollars later when you register it, plus the registration itself . But you own't be paying dealer profit.

Well before I came out here I had a 98 ranger, nice little truck and I can tell you I miss not having a truck. hauling stuff like a grill, my bike , parts for the car and so on a so forth. I am just saying that If I would have known I would have kept my little ranger. plus it came in handy when the stang was in the shop and the mud was in season LOL

I found a 04 Mach 1 with 44k on it for 11k. The only drawback is that it is a auto which might not be bad since it will be my everyday driver.

That is a great price for a Mach1 with 44,000. You can for to the mach1 registry and price some for examples and you will see that it is. -Shane

Yes, that's an excellent price for an 04 Mach1 with 44k miles on it. Does this happen to be black and is being sold by VIP motor in Santee? Because if it is, they been trying to sell it for over 6 mos. May be able to negotiate on the price more.

And yes, auto with 4.30 is plenty of fun
But for a DD, 4.10 would work just as well.

If I were to buy that body style, hands down I would do the the Mach I.

I would not even consider a GT, because the Mach I engine is that much better all around. It is a great car and worth the money over a GT. Ever look back and wish you had spent that extra $2K on something, trust me, this is one of those times. Mach I's are the best value for money in the Mustang market right now.

As too the "auto". That is a personal choice. But if you are worried about performance, the auto is faster. And that tranny is much more reliable then the 5spd if you are going to run it hard. I am actually putting the Mach I auto in my 98 Cobra and I expect to be kicking some ass.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Get a car fax with it though. Those things can save ya a ton of head aches.
