Installing Electronic Gauges - A-Pillar... Help!

Windveil Blues

OLD FART
Has anyone installed electronic oil pressure gauges or electronic water temp gauges on an S197 yet? I scoured alldata and the EQUUS sites and got some info, but what I really need to know is exactly HOW and WHERE to connect them on the engine side.

Anyone?

PS I ordered my A-pillar from O'Reilly Auto Parts, and it fits flawlessly. $77.00, too.

Thanks,

Jim

On your car you would connected the temp sensor on the intake manifold right were the radiator hose connects on the right side. If you want to you can use the stock location as well. on the oil. the only thing i can think of is replace the fatory one with the suppled sensor. or you could even get lucky and the stock sensor work with the after market guage... have had that happen once...

also if you get a wiring diagrham on alldata, you could just hook in to the wiring under your dash that goes to the stock oil and temp light. then you dont have to do anything to the engine bay. just run the stock wiring to your after market gauge

Thanks alot, Andy... it's supposed to be 50 here on Sunday. Right now it is 8 degrees. Temp in the garage is 27 with the heater wound up to around 90.

I did get a shitload of data from alldata... I am so glad you talked me into it. I am going to add my truck to the account tomorrow, too

Thanks again,

Jim

alldata.com... check it out. There are several options to choose from, but guys like us will want the DIY package. 20 bucks a year for one vehicle, and 14.95 for each additional vehicle, and it tells you just about everything you'd ever wanna know about your whip.

I personaly will be hooking everything up to engine. I dont want elect. Just my preference I guess. I have to get water, oil pres, and NOS guages installed. I took your advice Andy going with NOS going with 125 shot to start with and some slicks. Got a few other tricks as well. I am shooting for low 12's or high 11's on slicks
