Last month we learned Chevy sold more Camaros in June than Ford did Mustangs. It's like 1969 all over again. Now, we did state that, "as The General has a backlog of 10,000 sold orders to fill (equating to less than a seven day supply), the streak is likely to continue for at least the next few months." But you know, with GM still being in the federal dog house and all that, plus with Ford being on the up and up, we wouldn't have been shocked to see more 'Stangs than 'Maros moving off lots during July. Only once again, Chevy beat Ford in the pony car sales department.

That said, Chevy sold about 2,200 less Camaros (9,320 vs. 7,113) in July than they did June -- and that's with Cash for Clunkers running at full tilt. For their part, Ford sold about 1,000 fewer Mustangs (7,632 vs. 6,686) month-to-month. Drawn out on a long enough graph, and Ford will eventually sell more Mustangs. That's if reading trends wasn't just like reading tea leaves. As far as why the Camaro continues to outsell the Mustang, we'll chalk that up to the Chevy's newness. Once the General fulfills all of its backlogged orders, we're thinking the Mustang is just too tough an opponent to continually beat. Even if they keep covering the Chevy in <strike>Gobots</strike> Transfromers bunting. Either way, we'll see you back here next month.
Should'nt the government curtail how much GM spends on movie deals for it's cars, I mean, how much do you think they spent to get Bumblebee to be the new Camaro? Do they pay for that? Can somebody clarify this for me.

It is advertisment for GM to allow a box office hit to use the Camero and any of their cars. People see it in the movie and they want to get one. It actually can drive their sale up with that huge of an exposure. Plus sometimes, a movie will pay the car manufacturer to allow them to use their cars or modify their cars to be use in a movie.

Ok just wanted to clarify, but I still think that the Saleen Police Car in the First movie was Badass! I wanted him to kick the crap out off Bumblebee.

there hasn't been a camaro in a long time though. you had all of those fanboys waiting for another one to come out and they are all buying them at once. once all the fanboys get one sales will plummet like a rock.

Yeah, personally I don't like the Camaro's interior, have you seen it, the Base V6's is the worse.

I have been and always will be a Mustang man. However, I was (I said was) very excited to see the new Camaro come out (finally)... Unfortunately just like when the GTO came out again a few years ago... All I can really say is " After 5 years of waiting THIS IS THE BEST THEY CAN DO???"
Sadly it just isn't living up to the hype. It is way too heavy, the styling is Garish at best and it doesn't handle near so well as it should. Come on Chevy pull your collective heads out of your A$$'s. I have to agree, once the diehards have thier cars delivered (way too late) sales will plummet.

actually its prolly cause the v6 matches the gt in hp. the cars priced withing 1k of eachother have like a 100hp difference. ford delivers a 4.6 na, chevy delivers a 6.2na . i can tell you which one i would buy.

Well...never short of opinions, as for the outside, GM did a really good job. The car looks hot. I haven't seen the inside, but Fords insn't the greatest either.

I think Ford missed the mark slightly on the 2010. I thought once I started seeing them in person my opinion might change, but I just don't like the rear end on them. I just can't get beyond it. The front looks good.

Until then, I think the Camaro might do well. In the end, I predict quality will be terrible and people regret buying them to look cool. Power is not going to an issue. Everyone and their brother will be making parts for these cars.

I sat inside the V6. It was decent, setup a bit different than the Mustang. But it is comfy. The only real issue is that it has a really long hood compared to the Mustang. Well at least you can see more of it than in the Mustang. As far as comfort and looks, both the 07 GT and the 10 Camaro are ok in my book. I think they both could be better but it is what it is. The Camaro's trunk opening S-U-C-K-S....SUCKS!!! It is about half the opening that the 07 Mustang has. It has lots of room inside of the trunk, but doesnt have a very big opening to get to it. Go look at one and give your opinion....I am sure the guage setup will irritate people though.
