That transmission will cost more than the car you are trying to buy. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. You are shooting for $1000 project car and all of a sudden you need a tranny to handle 1500HP? Who's judgement is clouded?

Stock AODs can't even handle the stock hp from a 5.0L, look how many broken AODs are available, like two in every 2 mile radius.

A built AOD will hold if built right.

However I'm not sure if you want 'Automatic Overdrive Electronic' for a drag car, maybe it does make more sense using it on a street car...

Wait a minute no one said about getting that tranny you said AODE can only handle 400hp I was merly showing you proof. We can spend 700 to 1000 and have a bullet proof AODE to handle our requirements...:loser)

Any transmission can be build to hold certain amount of power under certain conditions. Some cost more than others, the question what does the car need to do, based on that, get it's transmission and not spend more money than necessary.
