Dante confirmed what i had read about aje and UPR k members, the AJE k member is likely to bend when street driving and the UPR set up wont, the AJE is a race only set up...
:bs: I have been running AJE K-members for 5 years. I had one on my Boss and I have one on the coupe. Both cars were street driven before they became track cars. They have seen street and strip and neither one of them ever caused any problems, broke, made noise, etc. The AJE is quality stuff. Are you saying the UPR kit is stronger because it's chromoly? You can get any AJE k-member in Chromoly for $100 dollars more than the mild steel kit.
The UPR coil over kit sucks because you have to adjust them by hand. They do not come with a wrench nor can you buy one and use it because of the design. Once the coil overs get to a certain point you will have to be a bear to turn that thing against the spring pressure.
Yeah i dont think the AJE set is bad but dante told me he a couple of guys come in to his shop with the Aje a arms that had snapped when they were just driving around but i dont think that should be detterrent from buying there stuff. The UPR K member i read is light then the AJE one because it's made of chomoly.
alright guys seeing how i will be out for a bit i would like to get some insite for dates for an install, i wish to have done at my house due to the fact it's not exactly swapping wheels. I will be in stand down starting june 8th and will be in duty section only, so 2 off 1 on.... i was thinking 13th or 14th of june....anyone object????
Because you are switching to coil overs, that is one tough install. Between packing bearings, get the coil overs set and the steering installed.....LONG DAY!!!
What date are you looking for again...is it 13JUNE? I need to mark it on my calendar. If that is the date, try to get your coil overs mounted at the hobby shop prior to the install date. If you need to press in some bushings, get those done too and dont bend them. I'll want to start at sun up if we are going to finish in one day. Also, we will need air tools!!!
