My office decided to goto K1 Speed up in Carlsbad today as a going away for on of my co-workers. The way they do it is, a 12 lap practice session. The person with the lowest lap time from that gets to be first for the qualifying laps. For qualifying you get 14 laps and the best time gets the pole. Then for the race, it is from a grid and is 16 laps.....
Well for Practice I ran a 31.17. I had the best time by .20 seconds. So I started Qualifying first!
Went and qualified, ran a best of 30.49 with the next closest person being.61 seconds behind me.
Onto the race. I was on the outside as the polesitter. It is a staggered grid to start. When it went green I gassed it and looked to my right, I was already moving and the 2nd place guy was just getting moving. Well I ended up lapping 4 people in the race. I ran a best time of 30.31 for one lap and finished 16 laps in 8:18. The next best lap time was 30.69. I won the race by 13.54 seconds......basically i was picking up about .75 seconds per lap on 2nd place. I had 5 laps better than the best lap that was put down by the other guys.
My rankings were XP scoring: 1802 out of 584114
Proscoring: 8637 of 584114.
Not bad for a first time....
I was really hitting the turns hard and am happy with the way it came out for me. Nothing like shutting up the **** talking senior chief that is an all pro at everything......he finished 22.45 seconds behind me....LOL LOSER!!!!!!!
Also, I have the 40th fastest lap of the week on their site. I am sure that will change though.
