FASTSLEEPER Hey how do I get rid of flys? I hate flys I know there is a home show I saw somehting about basil or another herb

VP they look like good fishing bait to me. If they are near your house they are near the lake so that means the fish are probaly snacking on them... maybe if your bored you could try it and catch something

Hope the garden Elementals have mercy on all you sissy boys. PLEASE. Just send me a note and I will help you with your "scary" bug problems. This is my job. I design / create gardens / landscape and take care of them from the watering to the insect / disease problems. Hope you never have to ride in my work car! Not only full of tools but snails, slugs, spiders, and whatever other little creature ends up in there. I am bitten by spiders nearly every day. The worst one was on my...well never mind. :)
the ear pinchers always bite me plus lived in texas many years had scorpions, centipedes, black widows, all sorts of snakes and a velociraptors!

I love spiders.....especially watching them flushed down the toilet.
thats what i do with mostbugs catch them in a tissue and flush them

I found these in my house before!! Nasty looking things.. They are relatives of the Camel spider. They are supposedly not poisonous although I dont think I would want to get bitten by one. Has any of you seen one of these monsters in SD area? They live in the dirt so you wont find them in a web or anything like that.

The other year, we got those big orange spiders that built webs that were about 6 feet in diameter, and the actual spider was about 4 inches big... Freaking scary. I took a basketball to it.

We had a bug spray person come this year, and we haven't had any bug problems, ants, spiders, wasps, nothin!

insects are cool. i normally leave the ones that get rid of pests alone and any that stray into my house get the cup and cardboard treatment. then are thrown out back. i think i'm too nice at times.

only ones i have no mercy upon are the ones that get in my car. all bets are off then.

Being that YossemidySam and I are so close to each other, I am gonna have to say the ones oin the front of my house are Black Widows......

I have killed the spiders before I would take pics of them.

The ones in front live in this hole in the wall near the foundation. They have a few intricate but small webs. They appear to be all Black, a really dark black. Those were the diggest that I had seen around my house. There were flowers planted near where the black ones were and now the gophers have eaten all of the flowers. I hope they are not Black widows but if they are I rarely see them anyway. How bad is a Black Widow bite to a kid(5 or 6 year old)?

Thanks....

From what I heard, black widow bites are poisonous. not sure if its fatal to human or child, but heard it can make people sick at the least.

DONT let or get bit by a black widow, it will jack you up.... there are also spiders called brown recluses that will make your day or next few days to come very miserable. Example: I had a recruit get bit once by what was found to be a brown recluse later, he didnt tell anyone for i think it was a day. He was sent to the hospital because he was getting pretty sick. Any ways, the spot where he was bit was in his thigh. After the doctors cleaned him up, he was stuffed with about a golf ball size amount of cottin, because they had to cut out all of the dead tissue. It was disguisting. A Black widow will get you children very sick, but I do not beleive that it will "eat" the tissue away as the recluse does. bottom line, just dont get bit.

Wow.....I pushed boots in the Navy and one of my recruits had the exact same thing, bit in the thigh by a brown recluse! He waited several days as well, then came to us with this nasty looking multi-colored wound that appeared to have a pussy residue leaking from it. The doctors took care of him but he was set back in training. They took a good bit of skin and flesh from the thigh area. He had to have a skin graph to cover the area. He remained in the Navy though. The barracks up there spooked the kids as the guys in the top racks would freak out with all the spiders that would crawl across the ceiling at night....LOL Poor kids. Oh the heck with them. I was suprised that I only had the one get bit.
