If you were in any sports in high school boot camp will be a breeze PT wise. I run a 285+ regularly, but I like to run and do stupid workouts for fun. Lately I've been awfully lazy since I've been commuting from Miramar to Pendleton everyday, and I might run a 270-280 right now. You'll either learn to hate pt or you will love it.
Anyway as previously said boot camp is about being loud, fast, and intense. Pt is not and will not be your biggest worry during boot camp. Chow, mail, and free time will be on your mind more than anything. Boot camp is a MIND game, so don't let it get to you.
Improving yourself is all about pushing yourself. When you run you should be tired once you are done. If you are not tired, you didn't push yourself hard enough and you will get nothing out of it. Oh and a Marine is not about running a 300 PFT or CFT. There are many many other aspects but pt is a good place to start now.
