so i read that there is a tool that allows you to retain the cam gear in the stock location for later replacing the cam. if this is true... i could order the springs, install them and then replace the cams...

Eric! where the hell are you!

The tool is in summit catalog of 30 bucks, id say the go with cms or mph cams they have rave reviews from other guys with cams, but if i was u i buy something based on the fact that you have plans for a turbo, which you wont make as power if you had cams that were mainly n/a cams....

ya... see currently the way things are looking i may as well get over the whole turbo thing. its not gonna happen for a few years.

I'm currently ordering the springs/cam bolts. just need to decide on a cam.

well my decision is made if this other company i found has them in stock on monday.

Part Grind Duration at 0.050-in Operating Lobe Separation
Number Number Intake/Exhaust Lift Range Angle
102500 XE262AH 226/230 0.550 1,400-5,400 rpm 113
102600 XE270AH 234/238 0.550 1,800-5,800 rpm 113
102700 XE278AH 242/246 0.550 2,200-6,200 rpm 113

If the cam i want isn't available i think im going to go with the 102600

Ya these are the comp cam specs... do you have a sound clip of your car at idle? i just wanna hear what these cams are gonna sound like.

also i keep reading that you have to have the pistons fly cut for those cams is that true?

Cams Ordered... Hitech Stage 2 NA

Nothing but good reads about these cams. 632.17 shipped

damn i cant believe you went with them...good choice but you i think you'll be limited to running just N/a with them or juice....awsome cant wait to do the head swap and see what the car does!!!!!!!

correct me if im wrong but with anything higher then a stage 1 cam/s you'll need gears and upgraded exhaust and a higher stall (autos) which you have already done the h pipe , but i just thought of that from reading some recomendations for cam swaps....

gears i may break down and install a set of 3.55's or something. 3.73's and 4.10's are out of the question unless i magically find a t56 for super cheap.

gears are just that... gears. these cams will still make power with the 3.27's i'll just be a little below the power band unless i run the shift a little longer..

If you buy 3.55 imo your wasting you money, you're not making 600 hp with a turbo you said it your self your not going to go power adder for awile, i'd get 4.10s if i was you, do the research, everyone that didnt go 4.10s wishes they did imcluding me....at the least go 3.73's....dont cut corners on this, if your concerned about mpg buy a prius and join those forums....And dont forget the fact you have 18s if you were to buy 4.10s they will behave like 3.73s because the wheel size knocks the gear size

Tire OD is exactly the same as stock so my mph is exactly the same as it ever was. the wheel size wont change that.

IF i had the 3650 i would do 3.73's ina heart beat but the t46 has a much shorter 5th gear. I'm not cutting corners. its just gonna be a while after these mods that any thing else happens and i can get a set of 3.55's for damn near free from any one with an auto that upgrades.

Pass on the 3.55s, just not enough to get out of a hole, your gonna have to buy entire rebuild kit, witch is another 100 bucks, go big or go home....

373s should actually save you gas money. Keeps you in just the right powerband. 3.73s rock! I had 4.10s but not good as a daily driver. 373 is second best
