Locking Out Timing and Pulling O2's

Well all I have to say is I'm blown away!!! I'm super happy with the progress that the car made last night. I was a little pesimistic when arriving @ the track last night because it was 95* outside. Well lets get to the good stuff!!

Car was set up @ 34* timing, 44lbs of FP and vacuum taken off the regulator and plugged. Again just a reminder that my previous best working with the SCT tune = 6.89@98.7mph. Last time out before I phucked over my day by making tooo many changes at once = 6.94 @ 98.3mph.

Run#1- Timing 34* FP @ 44lbs= 6.928 @ 97.97 60'-1.54 - 330' 4.461
Notes: Hit the rev limiter. Sun directly in eyes going down the track shift light is yellow! Since I hit the rev limiter I didn't make any changes and ran again with the same settings.

Run#2- Timing 34* FP @ 44lbs= 6.830 @ 100.24 60' 1.48 - 330' 4.391
Notes:NEW PR for mph & ET!!!!

Run#3- Timing 35* FP 44lbs= 6.819 @ 100.37 60'1.50 - 330' 4.346
Notes:NEW PR!!! Bump Timing

Run#4- Timing 36* FP 44lbs= 6.838 @ 100.34 60' 1.50 - 330' 4.388
Notes:Bump FP 2lbs

Run#5 Timing 36* FP 46lbs= 6.817 @ 100.58 60' 1.51 - 330' 4.380
Notes: Bad launch. NEW PR & MPH!!!!

I tried to get one last run in thinking I could break a 6.7 with a better launch, but the car had no cool down time at all. Last run with no changes was a 6.86 @ 99.67.
Last run the car was on empty and hot lapped and still beat my old previous best!

The best part is that the car may still have more in it! Todd & James said from the stands that they "could actually hear the car getting MEANER". They didn't get vid of either of my 6.81 passes, but I'll post a 6.83 pass later.

Thanks guys!

As a witness to the entire night, it was a great night for Bobby and Wickedstangs. We have our first 100mph car in the club and I expect that number will continue to increase as the tune progresses. Congrats to him!!!

Secondly, the track at Irwindale was awesome. The staging was smooth and quick, the competition is great and people enjoy talking about their cars. I was not there longer then 20 minutes and people were asking questions about our run at Barona. Wickedstangs need to spend more time at this track. Race fee $20...half the price of Barona and no headaches...also offsets the price of fuel to get there.

I was kicking myself in the butt all night for not bringing my stuff to race. Be prepaired to have a fire jacket if you want to race there and have any aftermarket power adders though.

Nice runs! I completely forgot about Irwindale.

Barona is actually a elevation and I don't know what Irwindale's elevation is, but according the calculator, I was losing 25-30hp at Barona vs. sea level.

It makes sense you did better. I was hoping you would run a 1/4, like to see what you do there as well.

Congrats

The elevation there is only 250'. I made changes since Barona. I was running way rich @ Barona. 1/8 to 1/4 calculator says I should run 10.7's to low 10.8's.

its an NHRA Rule that they enforce on Every one instead of certain time brackets. Makes it easier on the track i'm sure.
