LONG BEACH, Calif. — Dennis Baltimore Jr.'s punishment for vandalizing his school was to take his confession to the streets.

His father made the 16-year-old walk the streets of Long Beach and Signal Hill for five hours on Tuesday wearing a sandwich board that proclaimed: "I am a juvenile delinquent who should be punished. I have wasted your tax money with dumb acts of vandalism in the public schools."

The 10th-grader painted graffiti from a fictitious gang on property at Wilson Classical High School in Long Beach, a port city 25 miles south of Los Angeles.

Dennis Sr. got a telephone call Monday from the school and was told his son had caused $875 worth of damage.

"In a time of this uncertain economy, I'm sure the public is not going to like it," the father said.

Baltimore, who moved to California from Washington, D.C., a few years ago, said he got the idea for the sign from a news report about a laid-off man in New York who wore a board advertising his qualifications for a job.

"When I saw that, I went to the store, bought the supplies and made the sign," Baltimore said.

"I want him to always question himself before he makes a decision," the father said. "You have to make conscious decisions. He's a good son; he just made a bad decision, and he has to pay for it."

The sign drew laughter from onlookers. Some took photos.

"I'm doing what I have to do to make him a man. That's my job," Baltimore said. "This is nothing compared to what could happen to him. He could get shot in the streets for something he thinks is minor."

Passersby seemed to agree.
"He won't want to do that again, and it's better than his dad putting his hands on him and beating him," said Adrian Paxton, who was released from prison in October.

"If my dad had did something like that to me when I was doing my thing, it probably would have helped me," he said.

Dennis Jr. said he got the message.

"I was thinking about being a gangbanger, but once I saw what the punishment was, I was like, no," he said.

"Right now I feel dumb and I regret everything I've done," he said.

In addition to his father's punishment, the teenager got a four-day suspension and must spend several days over the holiday vacation painting over graffiti and performing other community service at the school.

Awesome punishment. It kinda reminds me of some of my unorthodox punishments. for not coming home till 4 am when I was 16 I had to put my own car on blocks. It was like digging your own grave and on top of that it was raining. I ended up riding bike everywhere for 6 weeks or so. Never came home late without at least calling. I've also had to dig a hole as deep and wide as a shovel for something else. I don't remember what I did but I sure remember that hole. Showing up to work everyday on a bike sure was embarrasing. humiliation is really effective. that and hard labor.

Maybe if more parents discipline their own kids, we wouldn't have as many juvenile delinquents around and maybe less adults criminal.
But watch, there will be some liberals out there crying child abuse.

All I can say is good for this father for taking care of business. Bravo!

TEEN SUES PARENT OVER EXCESSIVE PUNISHMENT & HUMILIATION

AP/Long Beach, CA

A California teen today was awarded $1.2 million dollars in a trial that took jurors only moments to decide. The jury sided with Dennis Baltimore Jr. when he and his attorney addressed the court stating that Baltimore's father punished him excessively by embarrassing him in public.

The father, Dennis Baltimore Sr. made a brief comment after the jury awarded the sum to his son. "The F***ing kid can go F*** himself, the little @sshole! He ain't even my kid. And he can pay his OWN F***ing way through college!

Dennis Jr. had no comment but was seen leaving the courthouse and went straight to a Ford dealership where it is believed he bought a new GT500 Shelby Cobra.

and a couple of years later, there will be a headline in the newspaper where this kid is now a gangbanger and has just been convicted of homicide for a gang related murder.

I am a liar and I steal.
I wont back talk my mom again.
I wont go out with boys past curfew.

Yeah it is awesome. Never see the same kid 2 times.LOL

The parents are usually in a lawn chair by the playground under a shade tree too making sure the kids are doing the punishment right.....

I have seen the Marine Corps use this type of punishment as well. While I was in Hawaii there was a yound PFC who had to stand by a gate in his charlies no matter the weather and hold a sign that read "do not Drink and drive for everyone coming to work to see.
