Losing My Mind Trying to Install...

Have any of you S197 owners installed an aftermarket tachometer yet?? I have googled until my fingers bled, and I have found about as much half-information as one can stand without eating a jacketed copper tylanol at 3600 fps!!

I have an expensive iEQUUS tach, an MSD tach driver and more wiring and BEC schematics than I care to mention, but I REFUSE to cut a wire until I KNOW which wire is the main positive COP feed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, believe me...

Any luck yet Jim? I am installing piller pod and guages when I get back. I been taking peoples duty days and have about 900$ saved so far as well as The wife putting some money away. I am going to go with a NOS, long tubes, guages, drive shaft, and slicks Getting ready for fun ford. Hey can you get my address and e-mail from my mom and shoot me a e-mail. I could use some mustang magizines to out here. I am going insane

I finally got the info I needed... you need to tap into the crank position sensor on the lower-left front of the engine. Now my biggest issue is how to mount the tach without drilling holes in my friggin' dash. There isn't enough room on my A-pillar because of the angle of our windshields. But once I found out where to tie into the tach signal, everything else is gravy but the mounting. I will keep you posted. When is your cruise gonna be over?
