Lower Control Arm Modification

the 351W build is only worth it if your going to do a stroker motor... like a 393 or 408... other then that the power you will get could be made from the 5.0 you have

Dude, WTF are you doing to my thread? This is about control arms, not engine swaps!

Are you smokin' crack? LOL

Mach is right. I thought you where talking about just closing them up totaly. You are on the right page Tim. Why not just throw on after market ones though?

Your right I am the man lol Just kidding Just keep up the mods so we can run again. I got some new goodies coming.
EMILIO Thanks for the help today!!!

How could you possibly think I was going to close them up totally when I posted a photo showing the area I was going to close off?

Did you not see it or did you not read the thread?

Remember this picture from page one?

Maybe the GREEN isn't showing on your monitor. I'm leaving the last 5 inches open on each end. And then, like I said, zip tie the brake cable to the arm OR drill and deburr a hole and pass the cable through.

Picked up my steel reinforcing plates today. Before trimming on BOTH sides, they are 3" wide, 15" long and 3/16ths thick, twice as thick as the original stamping itself.

Photo SHOULD be self-explanatory.

That's why you weld it a little at a time, move back at forth to opposite sides/ends and let it cool before continuing.

Actually, I didn't post that comment for you, but for anyone wondering why there wasn't a continuous weld bead there.

Excellent! I never thought of it until Blackstallion06 was telling me about it one day while we were working on the WS race car. I could see it in my mind as he described it and when a friend of mine at work bought aftermarket arms and was willing to sell me his stock one, well, I jumped on it. Got the pair for $10.

Good job! Really a no brainer isn't it? Cheap mod!

nice... im doing these because i have two sets of stocks from the donor car and the 4cyl... so if it screws anything up i just throw my stocks back on, lol i wish i would have stepped up to the 3/16th thick.. .but i figure 1/8th is better then nothing.. sense im running my stock 7.5 till it blows up i cant use the quad shocks.. so i need to get ride of wheel hop anyway i can
