Member of the Month nominations

Im not saying what have i done because i haven't done anything. I have been oversea's for the past 6.5 months this year and 8 months and three days last year. But what about everyone else that goes oversea's. There are alot of military in this club. I just dont feel that alot of us have the chance to " do something " for the club in order to get elected and or voted for. Just seems kinda bias. The highest ranking people in the club, with the best cars, who have the most time are going to win. All i was sayin is that "Wow, some of us are really assed out." thats all

Not entirely true though. I was nominated for the November MoTM (Not by me), and I don't even have a mustang, and only went to one event that month. (Well, I only did get one vote for me in final voting , and it wasn't from myself! ) There's a lot you can do without actually being at events, be it advertising the club at other forums, getting events to fill up the calender, being helpful to new members, making people feel at home here.

I can see what you're saying, about it being a lot harder to be over seas for 8 months out of the year though. But it can be done, it's just a lot harder for you.

Deployed Member of the Month sounds intereting. They could do a small write-up on some accomplishments they have made both personally and professionally and with the club (if possible) and have a separate voting block. I just want to support those that are forward, either military or civilian, that are keeping my butt safe.

Damn, how did that happen. Let me give some thought to what it will involve and then I'll work something up. First, I want to take a poll to see if we should dedicate this as part of a club function. NEW THREAD going up soon.

i dont really care about any "of the month" type things. Im not in this club to compete against anyone. If anyone really wants to try to compete with me then i say put your money where your mouth is and lets take it to the freaking track. I could care less if i never get voted for. i was just saying how we always get left out of the loop and that we are assed out on alot of the things going on with the club. And that yeah after looking into it and reading some of the posts now that i finally have internet this "of the month" thing seems pretty bias. like i said. The highest ranking club members, people with the most time to devote to the club and its events and those with the nicest cars are going to be the ones nominated. Like me for example. I have spent plenty of doing and doing and doing for the central valley chapter while the chapter pres was away but that was a long time ago. i spent a little less than 5 months in the states before i went back out and now i cant do anything for the club. so i mean im not here for any awards or to compete so lets not make it about that i am here to meet and hang out with people that love doing the same thing that i love doing. living, eating, breathing mustangs.

I will say it does not matter what car you drive, or what your status in the club is. In 2 months we have had 2 well deserving people win. Any of the people that were put up for it could have won and also would have been great picks. This is not a popularity contest one bit. I hope others that vote are voting for what someone did not because it is their buddy. Example is I dont really like drag racing but with all that Orange has done recently to help others and all that, I felt he was the best choice. But that is just my .02

Anyone can win. I know being deployed keeps you away and out of stuff like this. But trust me, the people that are being nominated are well deserving of the award for that timeframe. I hope when you get back that you will be able to put your name on here too. Hell just goto the track and represent well can get you on here.

Remember this is just starting and will be modified if needed as we go. I think there will be alot of winners throughout the year.

Venom you have a good point and there is no competing.. We are doing this to put selected members in our Wicked Stangs Magazine. And later on in our Calendar once we get all the leg work done... But, again you do have a good point. And thanks for what you are doing.. I am sure CWO and Gibs are working on something.. Again we need more people to speak out when we are messing up

This is exactly why I've shyed away from this kind of stuff in the past, why I've asked that my awards aren't displayed and why I try to stay low key. It just causes resentment with some people.

I don't want a title and have people pissed off at me or have some sort of silly jealous envy.

well once again, im not looking for ANY SYMPATHY here, not complaining and definatley not trying to get some new "OF THE MONTH" thing started. Even if a new one popped up for those of us deployed i would probably be home by the time it hits the floor. lol. all i was saying is that we are for the most part passed out. And i mean that about everything. not just this "OF THE MONTH" stuff, everything. Like "toys for tots". us not showing up for stuff like that prolly makes us look like bags of dousche. but thats not the case. We are on the other side of the world. It all just kinda adds up, you know what im sayin. Anyways i have a couple guys here who might be looking at joining the central valley chapter as soon as we get back but they seen how this voting thing works and were like man you are pretty much assed out of everything. We are not there to participate therefore we dont get looked at as good people i guess. Anyways wickedstangs rock's, im not bitching, im not complaining, im not trying to start stuff and im not here to compete for a "of the month" thing either. wickedstangs will never see me nominated for anything because i dont believe that i do more than anyone else or that i am better than anyone else. im here for the same reason most of you guys are.

i could careless about what kind of fake awards you have or what kind of car you drive. See i knew that if i answered that question someone would say something like that. But i did. because i was speaking for all of us out here not just myself. you can ban me from ever recieving an award from the club and you know what i would shed not a single tear. because i dont care. thats not why i joined this club. thats why i left ca-mustangs because all they wanted to do was compete with each other and it gets really old really fast. but its people like you who half to just egg people on and not pay attention and say something wayyyyy out there in left field that make people want to leave.

The thing is this is just recognizing members for goo things they are doing. Not competing. I dont think any of these guys actually say hey wow if I do this then I might get the BS Of the month award. No they do it for the good of the club and its members.

Yes those that are not stateside are kind of left out. But I dont believe anyone called anybody a douchebag or anything of the sort. We know those that are deployed can not be at events. It happens. When you get back, just meet up at events and have a great time.

I am going to close this thread as it is no longer being useful. It is turning into what will end up as a bashing session due to a difference in opinion. Just a little preventative maintenance I guess.
