Doesn't seem all that pricey to me considering my GT was $32K and change BEFORE I started adding stuff. With all the mods on that car, I think it's a steal, even without any power adders. IMHO

but anyway you look at it its a 05gt no more warranty left on it

I would rather buy a new one for less than that and add mods to it

vp so your saying all thsuspension work you did to your car makes your 96 worth 17k dollas

it doesnt building your car adds 0 to your value

you might be lucky to recoupe some of your add ons but for the most part building a car is pointless unless you plan to keep it.

its a 05gt with work which means it will sell as a 05gt its almost 4 years old so why would you pay way over sticker price of a new one for a used 05

yeah to the normal person but if another gear head is interested they will buy it. thats why u start it at the price u think its worth first. price for aftermarket parts and installation my blue book for my car is like 6-7k but i would put it on the market for 10

Like I said it would highly depend on mileage also. If its a show car and has 800 miles on it thats basically new anyway. But as alway it depends on the buyer.

As a guy who used to sell Fords in Phoenix in the 80s...

(YES, I sold Fairmonts, T-Birds, Mustangs and F150s as well as Escorts and a lot of other junk they made back then...)

Here's how it works. True: Adding mods doesn't necessarily add value to the car. It may to you, and it will to a gearhead as mentioned. But the more you add, and the farther you stray from STOCK, the harder it is to sell because you have narrowed your target audience. You have to sell that car to a select few who understand, admire and want those changes.

Saying that you'd rather buy a stock GT and add your own mods proves my point. And that's how many will see it, most actually.

But there are those gearheads out there who know what all those goodies are worth and won't mind buying like that for a fair price, even if it IS way over blue book.

I have a friend who bought a Paxton supercharged 05 GT that was a former SEMA project car. He paid more for it than new but he's an old fart and wanted something already modified because he has a business and doesn't have time to do it all himself or pay others to do it. He bought it ready-made and he's happy.

Someone will buy it!
