Mustangs Vs The World Class

General Description
Mustangs Vs The World is designed for any body vehicles using any motor combination. The Mustangs Vs The World class will be contested on an Index based format.

Class Description:
Mustangs Vs The World is designed for any body vehicles using any motor combination. Mustangs Vs The World is based on a dial your own elapsed time (E.T.) which you must choose prior to the first round of eliminations. Once first round of eliminations has run changing your dial –in or personal index is prohibited. In first round of eliminations, the closer you run to your dial-in or personal index, the higher you will qualify for second round eliminations, which will then be laddered on a NHRA Sportsman ladder. All runs made faster than your dial-in or personal index will be placed on the bottom of the ladder.

Class Designation:
Mustangs Vs The World will have a class designation of “MVTW” and permanent numbers will begin with 12001. Competitors may secure permanent numbers by calling 619-527-4120 or at the Wicked Stangs Mustand Club registration trailer at each event. Mustangs Vs The World competitors are required to be official Wicked Stangs Racing Association members.

CLASS INFORMATION, LADDER TYPE, & TREE
The class will be an all run class with vehicles randomly paired in the first round. In the second round vehicles will be qualified by positive elapsed time (et) closest to the drivers claimed dial-in or personal index. Any negative (et) or qualifying run made faster than the drivers dial-in or personal index will be placed at the bottom of the qualifying ladder, the more negative or faster the (et), the farther down the ladder the run will be placed. For cases in which identical elapsed time packages are made, qualifying position will be based on a first-come first served: the first occuring (et) package will be placed #1, the second occurance of said (et) packages will be placed #2, and so on. Class will be laddered according to qualifying positions following the first round, and then advance thru eliminations. Once a dial-in or personal index is claimed in first round it will not be allowed to change for the remainder of the event.

All Run, NHRA Sportsman Ladder, Pro .500 Tree, Handicap Start.

If weather or any other unordinary occurrence effects eliminations the Competition Director reserves the right to allow dial-in or personal index changes between rounds.

DEEP STAGING
Deep staging is permitted, however not advocated. If you plan to deep stage, it is strongly recommended that you boldly display the words DEEP on all four windows, in plain view of the starter. It is always the driver’s responsibility to stage the vehicle prior to the tree being activated. In any event, the driver must be prepared to leave as soon as the final stage light is lit.

A competitor with the words DEEP displayed on the window is not necessarily obligated to deep stage. As well, the starter is not necessarily obligated to wait on a driver to deep stage, even if the words DEEP are displayed on the vehicle. All drivers must be prepared to leave as soon as the final stage light is lit.

ADVERTISING

CLASS & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
It is the participant’s responsibility to familiarize oneself with the class requirements as found in the 2009 NMRA rulebook and the safety requirements as found in the 2009 NHRA rulebook.

The participant agrees that the participant bears the ultimate responsibility at all times to ensure the safety of participant’s vehicle and to ensure that participant complies with all applicable NHRA rules. The participant agrees that participant is in the best position to know about the construction and operation of participant’s vehicle, equipment, and clothing, and whether there has been compliance with all applicable NHRA rules.

All vehicles must pass Barona's technical inspection for designated track prior to registering for event.

To win, you want to run as close to your dial-in as possible without going faster, or "breaking out".

You can also win if both cars run faster than the dial-ins (called running under) and you are the closest to your dial in. If both of you get down the track exactly at your dial-in or have the same break-out, the driver who reacted quickest to the Christmas Tree -- called raction time or RT -- wins the race.

Here are possible outcomes for a race between Car A with a 14.50 dial-in and Car B with a 15.25 dial-in:

Car A runs 14.55 seconds, Car B runs 15.35 seconds
Car A wins (runs closest tothe dial-in without breaking out)

Car A runs 14.40 seconds, Car B runs 15.20 seconds
Car B wins (both cars run under, Car B runs closest to the dial-in)

Car A runs 14.50 seconds with a .010 RT
Car B runs 15.25 seconds with a .050 RT
Car A wins (runs at dial-in, has better reaction time (RT)

OPEN COMP

General Description

Open Season class is designed for any year, make, and model vehicles using any engines combination. Dragsters and roadsters prohibited. The Open Season class will run on an Open Season format with a 1-tenth (1/10th) breakout.

Qualifying Information, Ladder Type, & Tree

The class will be qualified by positive reaction time (r/t) closest to “.000” based on a Pro .500 Tree. “.000” is considered perfect. Any negative r/t (-.001, -1.231, etc.) will be placed at the bottom of the qualifying ladder, the more negative the r/t is, the farther down the ladder the run will be placed. For cases in which identical reaction times are made, qualifying position will be based on a first-come first served: the first occurring r/t will be placed #1, the second occurrence of said r/t will be placed #2, and so on. Class will be paired according to qualifying positions, and then advance to eliminations.

All Run, NHRA Sportsman Ladder, Pro .500 Tree, Handicap Start.

A 32 or less car field will be laddered on a sportsman ladder

A 33 or greater car field is randomly paired and run until the field reaches 32 cars or less. When the field reaches 32 or less cars a sportsman ladder for the number of cars remaining will be used to pair the cars. Car placement on this ladder will be determined based on reaction time for the last round that was randomly paired.

If weather has caused the loss of one or more rounds of qualifying sessions, any entrants not qualified will be required to choose an index from the following list: 10.0, 9.0, 8.0, 7.0, 6.0, Competitor must submit their index to the race director on the last day of qualifying. Competitors will compete with their chosen index through eliminations. Any competitors who fail to submit their index on the qualifying day will automatically be assigned a 15.70 index.

RULES & REGULATIONS
Any modifications, vehicle weight, or power adders permitted. Any gear change must occur as a result of an internal function of the transmission or from direct action by the driver. Pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, etc. shifters prohibited. Trans-brakes and 2-steps permitted.

I actually like the .000 better. I don't like the Q .500 tree. And thanks for allowing 1 piece drive shaft. LOL!

What's my permanent number? I'll register now.

Emilio, I looked it up and it's called a "Sportsman Tree". The correct listing for Barona is a Sportsman .000 Tree.

This is the Sportsman Tree. With the "Sportsman Tree" you stage just like in the Pro Tree but the three amber lights and the green light "march down" in sequence at .5 second intervals. The goal is to anticipate the "green" and be as close to the .5 second interval as possible. Anything under the .5 second interval is a red light. Press the "stage" button, and the yellow pre-stage and stage lights will come on.

Click The Above Link pretty Neat..

Couple of errors I noticed.

First:

If weather has caused the loss of one or more rounds of qualifying sessions, any entrants not qualified will be required to choose an index from the following list: 10.0, 9.0, 8.0, 7.0, 6.0, Competitor must submit their index to the race director on the last day of qualifying. Competitors will compete with their chosen index through eliminations. Any competitors who fail to submit their index on the qualifying day will automatically be assigned a 15.70 index.

In Red. I thought we replaced the 6.0 with Open Season Class. And 15.70 index, where is that from? I think that needs to be corrected.

Second:

Any qualifying pass quicker than 5.799 or slower than 8.501 will be disqualified and will not be counted.

5.799? Did you mean 5.999?

Instead of having the 15.70 assigned, make it the fastest qualifying time
-.100 seconds.

Sounds like a whole bunch of rules for some fun times going down a track. Just out of curiosity is my car legal within these rules? I have no back seat nor rear seat delete? I also wonder if the verts have any higher rules on having nitrous in the trunk?
