tuner

then... suspension OR borla stingers w / x-pipe.

there's a mach running around doing 10's on stock suspension, so i'm not too worried about lowering / changing it. getting into the 10's on a stock suspension mach tells me one thing...

suspension upgrades for machs are OVER-RATED. hell i've even seen some guys say that ever since changing their suspension, their 60 foots have suffered. and that's the true killer in the 1/4.

well when you lower a car it f***s up the weight transfer to the back so traction is harder to retain. the stiffer springs are more for handleing in my opinion.

but i've noticed that drag springs don't really lower the car much, maybe 1/2 an inch.

drag springs are a different spring rate. i wouldnt put drag springs on a daily driver so i assumed he was gonna put like the eibach pro kit or something. the drag springs tend to have a high spring rate in the front and a lower spring rate in the rear, so itll squat and go.

i know this. what some of the guys back east that i'd go to the track with most had eibach pro-kit, adj shocks, upr control arms. but what we'd do when we were at the track was soften the rear shocks all the way, tighten the front one's all the way, and disconnect the front sway bar. they got pretty good 60 ft.

I put in Eibach springs and I HATED the ride! Took them right back out and sold them. What a waste of an afternoon.

Since I'm not a drag strip whore, I like the driveability of the stock suspension just fine.

Didn't really like all those stiff jolts to my lower back.

To each their own, I suppose.

thanks for the compliments, guys. being a lowly poor college student, it'll take me a while to get her how i want her, but she'll get there. and once she's there, she will be a monster.

with my v6 i cut some corners and yeah, i paid a bit in the end. i want to make sure i do everything right in the mach so i won't have to buy things twice or re-buy mods. i'll save a little bit longer and do some more research, that way i know i'm getting what i want. having the v6 as a template of how i wanted my mustang to turn out, i know what i want in the mach and what will work. the mods i'm planning to do are going to be geared towards what i want to do down the road.

ex:

i'm going to get 3.90 gears. why? why not 4.10's or 4.30's? very simple. i'm planning on forced induction. and on a mach like mine, 3.90 gears is optimum for going forced induction. while i may not get the hop i would've from 4.10's or 4.30's, i won't have to rebuy the gears for when i decide to go forced induction.
