I have ordered some parts that aren't in yet but I will start by posting pics of the car when I bought it. It is a 92 LX 5.0 5spd. I gave $2,800 for the car and spent $85 at the DMV for tax and tags. Everything on it is stock except for a 70mm throttle body that reads both BBK and Edelbrock? I still even has the tape player so I can listen to my old MC Hammer tapes. The odometer reads 91xxx. Not sure if the odometer has been rolled over or not. I replaced the break pads and got the rotors turned yesterday.

I didn't like the color at first but it is growing on me.

The car had been sitting for almost a year.

Did an oil change today, took a few pics of the underside so I decided to post them up. I added a quart of Lucas Oil Treatment. I am going to change the oil again in a couple of weeks. The oil in the car was pretty black. I also seafoamed the car last night. I found I have after market mufflers as well.

As you can see it has a few leaks, the tires all look pretty good. The car has a miss at idle. I bought new plugs but didn't put them in yet to see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks to LCR and to Woodside I now have my first mod on my car. Maximum Motorsports full length sub fram connectors. I bought some rubberized spray to keep them from rusting. Anyways it turned out a brown looking color.

I got bored tonight and decided to install some Mac white gauge covers.

Here are the gauges when I started
gauge001.jpg

After I took the 6 screws off the clear plastic piece and the 4 screws holding on the piece between the clear plastic and the gauges.

I took this picture so I would remember where each gauge needle was pointing for re-installation. The speedometer was a pain to get off. I couldn't use the supplied tools and had to use a flat head screwdriver for it. The other ones popped off easily.

After this I took off all the old black factory plates. They are pretty easy. You also have to take off the stop needle for the MPH hand. Then I lined up the holes and stick the new white stickers in the place.

Here I went back to the original pic so I could try to match up exactly where the hands were pointing. I think I did an ok job but won't know for sure until I plug it back in and start the car. It would be bice if I had some orange or green needles for this. The white blends in too good and it may be hard to see during the day?

The final product. I cleaned all the dust out of the inside before re-installing the plastic parts.

Please 'detail' the car and take some more pics. :D

i am going to get robello to do it. BUT i may wait until after i get the new hood and paint on it. there are a few chips etc. on the front and the clear sucks anyways on the front plastic. ribello says he can clean up the clear with a compound buff. but we will see. i did clean it up a little though.

Looks good man, did the needles function correctly? I know the RPM gauge acts funny at times when they are taken off.

your going to lose power on the stock engine with those. It will probably sound healthy though.

Yeah, but with a stock engine that I will NEVER race the sound will be worth the powerl loss. One day i will have enough stuff to put these to use. I just picked up the H pipe btw. i need to [aint it black to match i guess. Pics later.
