Need a new starter...

Well along with my leaks and rearend problem I believe my starter is going bad. The first start up of the day is fine but after that I turn the key and just get a whine. On the second try (after the whine) it starts right up. Thats the starter right? Anyone replaced theres lately and have a good recommendation? Want something that will work if I plan to go 347. Thanks guys.

i would go with a hi-torque mini starter. a full size starter is a BITCH on foxes.

Does that sound like a starter problem? It was like clockwork today... first key turn it just whined...second key turned started right up.

yep the Bendix is going out on the starter... its not kicking to the flywheel

Just an update, I put in a new starter from Kragen (Brand is Autolite). Anyways the car starts up GREAT everytime. So the starter was definately the problem. I think the next project is my tranny oil cooler leak....
