man i hope the egr that steve has dose the trick and i could start driving this car again at least till i can get all the parts together to do the upgrade to a turbo 2.3L cant wait.

Yeath it is but that would mean I would need to do the conversion and I don't really wnt to take that route with this car. Not now anyway I'm going to drop in the turbo 2.3L if anything. Thanks thou

well i installed the egr valve today. I tried to start it but in order for it to stay running i have to push the gas and keep it at like 2k to 3k rpm. i left at that rpm then when i let go of the gas it shut down.... and i also noticed that when i left it at 3k rpm for a while, it would start to go down on its own and every now and then i heard a knocking sound when i push the gas while at 3k rpm. im going outside now and see what codes i can get out of it. its hard to do cus she wont idle for shiit. im also going to check compresion. if anyone has any suggestion post them here. thanks

The original code was EGR right? You may have recieved a POS (used one) that is compounding the problem.

ok ill try that now im also going to check the timing i have never really done that but it cant be that hard. next step if this dont work is going to be to take it to the hobby shop or ask if anyone would come by my house to help me out ill pay. thanks

i did it

Unplug the egr and see what happens.

well i did it and all stayed the same but the check engine light came on. and i noticed something when i start it up and go past 2krpm it settles out but when it comes down below it, its starts to shake like crazy and there is a bad smell coming from the exhaust i think its fuel which might mean i have a bad injector. So im going to pull them tomorrow and check them out.

Check the tps sensor with a voltmeter. Make sure it's less the 1v @ idle and no more than 5v @ WOT. Key on engine off.
