New Borlas Finally Installed

[GT400SC]

Had the Borla Stingers and 4" tips installed today by Prestons in La Mesa.

Try as we might, there was no way the stingers were going to fit mid car. There simply wasn't enough clearance for them. They would rub the bottom of the car and the ground every time I'd hit a bump. So we tossed that idea. But we tried, oh how we tried.

So, we duplicated the Borla Cat-Back setup with an exception. They bent me tubes that allowed the tip and the Stinger to be aligned in a straight line instead of having a bend between the Stinger and the tip. In essence, one less bend in the exhaust. The tips are flush against the rear fascia and the sound is awesome. I will get a sound/video clip later.

By the way guys, before anyone asks....YES, this was a Craigslist find. $225 for the complete cat-back system made entirely by Borla. Came off an 04 Cobra. Got out the trusty cutoff saw and took it apart. Ground off the original hangers and then had it installed for $100. So, for $325 and gas to Alpine and back (where I bought it) I got the $600+ Borla Axle-back system, but built MY way. Geez, I love Craigslist!

I can't agree more. But try as I might, I just couldn't do what I wanted to avoid the "ricer" effect.

Very Nice! I loved the Borla Stingers on my 02GT and love them even more on my 04 Cobra. Just cant beat the sound in my opinion.-Shane

Yeah, I''ll shoot another video with higher revs but as you saw, the dog didn't much care for even the "mild" revs. She jumped up when I hit the gas, even just a little bit. Poor pup.
