I just came back from deployment and want to do something to my car. I have a 2002 Mustang GT with 87,600 miles on it. I already have SLP Catback 2 exhaust and an uncatted X pipe. I would like to put headers but im not sure what kind to put. I know I want long tubes and stainless steel. SLP has a pair but there $900. thats ridiculous. I also want to chip my car with. which should i do first? also recommend a good pair of LT headers. THX

We have almost identical miles on our car. Mine is a 2002 as well, only its a 'vert. Yes, forget the chip, get the SCT tuner and JBA headers.

The headers look good but Im not sure if I want to spend $1200 on headers thats a lot, plus I have an X pipe already. I think The tuner might be a better choice for me right now. thats about $375

That's a great price for those headers. And if you need someone to install them we'd be more than happy to help you. And we also provide custom tuning with SCT as well. It's the way to go!

Ferocious RPMM is a certified dyno tuner. i have the dyno sheet to prove it. on my mild turn 465 rwp at 6000 and 450 tq at 3600!!! too many goodies to list on here though.

All above is great advice. Long tube headers do make good power, but are tough to install. Gears will give you the feel of more torque as it gives you a more mechanical advantage. SCT canned or email tunes are alright starting points, but there is no replacement for a custom tune. I almost picked up 90rwhp over a bama tune on a 2012 mustang gt with boss manifold, LT headers, exhaust, and intake. Those cars naturally can make more power as I've come up with a sweet combination of cam timing that has been able to get me more torque and screaming power up top.
