Nitto's NT555R has been a hit in the street car market, that offers a street tire that you can take to the drag strip and perform well with. To push even further into the drag racing market, Nitto has introduced their NT05R; it resembles the tread pattern of the NT05 street tire, hence the name.
The tire is a 0 treadwear, more aggressive drag radial. They are starting with popular 17" and 20" applications for the Mustang, Challenger, Corvette, etc. Nitto states that the new sidewall design makes these drag radials very stable down track as well. They also plan to release a 15" line to compete with other popular drag radial tire companies. Look for it the first quarter of 2010.

• Full contact patch
• 0 treadwear
• Brand new compound and enhanced sidewall
• Comparable price to the 555R
any word on how much these are going to run for?

That is the BIG question. How much will a set of these cost me. If they are more than $170 for the 16" wheel, I'll stick with Mickey Thompson.
