not if its set up right.

In my opinion, and it's only worth what a free opinion is worth...

It may not be a QUICK way to trash an engine, but it does contribute to an earlier demise, no matter HOW CORRECTLY it's installed. This is only common sense.

Anytime you do something to a mechanical device like a motor that causes it to operate OUTSIDE and PAST it's design limitations, it shortens the life of that motor. This isn't an argueable idea, it's a fact.

No one will ever convince me that having supercharged my STOCK motor, I can expect it to be in the exact same mechanical condition after 50,000 miles as if I HAD NOT supercharged it. There are additional stresses on motors that nitrous and power adders induce that wouldn't normally exist.

No matter how correctly they're installed

NOS has been around for ever guys... don't be scared of the juice. Machman ran it on his old stang as well as Emilio had a bottle on a car before power adder is a power adder

no it isnt. nos is a a quick easy way out. my car makes power all day. i dont need a bottle. theres a reason a nos kit is 600 bucks and a blower is 4-6k. with nos you can go to the track and turn decent numbers, then get your ass stomped on the way home cause your bottles empty. im sorry dude im a big anti nitrous advocate.

When I get mine they have a piggy back bottle that ties into the original system. I will have two bottles. Its only a 100$ for extra botte. I like to get the remote bottle opener as well as a bottle warmer. I am just going a diffrent route for my car. After I do headwork and cams I will be putting down good power numbers. Then adventually I will s/c the car but for now its NOS, heads, and cams

i dont know what route your on man but for money like that you could blow it and get more power. i took a different route, i did my engine last. good drive train and suspenion is always better than more power that wont make it to the wheels. i post up on mod depot and there is a hand ful of guys running mid 11s on n/a motors that are nearly stock. seriously turning 11s with only like 260rwhp.

and clear your damn pm box.

"im a big anti nitrous advocate." (sic)

Me too and I have my own reasons why and I don't care to discuss those here.

But suffice it to say, NOTHING comes without a price. Just because your motor didn't blow up the first time you gave a 150 shot doesn't mean you didn't weaken some internal part(s) somewhere that you can't yet detect.

The tune for my Whipple from Ford Racing, because my car is an automatic, is VERY conservative, meaning LESS power added than if it were a manual. This is because they KNOW, and have told me so, that the tranny won't take the stresses of the horsepower that comes out of manual tranny cars with the same SC.

Why do you suppose that is?

Because power adders add additional stresses, they also shorten the life of the item, in this case a transmission. Since the techs at Ford already know this, then I can safely assume it's common knowledge.

An aluminum can can hold it's shape relatively well, even under a load. Put an empty can on the sidewalk and stack bricks on it one by one until it collapses and marvel at it's strength.

But lay it on it's side and stick a firecracker inside and light it (power adder) and see if a big @ss hole isn't blow through the wall when the charge goes off.

My personal opinion is that nitrous is almost like cheating. Cheating yourself. It's not a true indication of what your motor has. It's an indication of what your motor has on "drugs". What your motor is on the way to the track and on the way home is the TRUE motor you have. How many homers you can hit in one season WITHOUT steroids is a TRUE indication of your abilities. Anyone can temporarily and artificially exagerate the power of their baseball swing or the output of their engine and prove it with a dyno run. But what you do on a daily basis (99% of the rest of the time) is a truer and more accurate representation.

Nitrous has it's place in drag racing and the dentist's office. But people who walk around bragging about 525 HP when in fact a third of it came out of a bottle in the trunk really don't impress me. Show me 525 on a built motor WITHOUT N20 and I'll be impressed.

Get out there in the batting cage and hit the 94mph+ fastballs over the fence in centerfield 80% of the time WITHOUT steroids and people will repsect you a lot more than if you "doped" up.

That's how I feel about juiced cars. But I'm just an old fart, what do I know?

And your point is?

You found a car that doesn't mention that it has nitrous but you know it does? Obviously, I would ask HOW do you know? And even if you did know for a fact that the cars does indeed have nitrous, so what? What is your point?

Are you saying that this fellow boasts of 577 RWHP and tricks us all by not telling us he has nitrous?

Like I said, he's just "cheating himself".

On the same token, we've all seen cars and trucks with the NOS decals on them and wondered...."Do they REALLY have nitrous or are they just wannabes wishing they did and want us to think so. Maybe we'll think twice about racing them cuz they're BAD AZZ and they have NOS, the sticker says so!"

There are people who don't tell you they have NOS (like your link) and there are people who say they do when they don't and that big bottle in the trunk is just a stupid subwoofer.

There are people here who talk a lot of smack and then lament why they're car isn't as fast as they THINK it should be or isn't DYNOING as high as they THINK it should. And when trying to explain away reasons why their car just isn't up to par, they use kids, wives, income, jobs and disabilities as excuses. Some of these people could use a dose of modesty. And until that happens....

STFU!

It didnt even seem like you where launching hard the other night. Can't wait to see that just hope I am not in lane next to you lol Good Luck!
