i have one i tried to use it at qualcomm but they didnt approve it,its dot.dont know if have the same rules on otehr tracks, but if u can use it i have it.i really want to get rid of it for a good price
It has to be Snell approved. Just DOT approve will not be allowed. Right now it said SNELL2000 or newer, but like HisPony said, may need to have a SNELL2005 approved helmet.
HisPony said:We need to sticky a thread in the Racing Area for this to be updated yearly!!!
Here is a quote from the 2009 NHRA Rule Book Stock Class Section 8A.10/Driver/Helmet Page 112
For all 10.00 and slower cars, either an open-face or a full-face Snell M2000, M2005, K2005, SA2000, SA2005, SFI 31.2A or 41.2A helmet mandatory; shield permitted (goggles prohibited)
For all 9.99 and quicker cars, a full face Snell M2000, M2005, K2005, SA2000, SA2005, SFI 31.2A or 41.2A helmet mandatory; shield permitted (goggles prohibited)
All times listed are 1/4 mile.
The reason Snell 2000 is still listed is because it is still within the expiration date.
You can not go wrong with following the NHRA Rules! They are the strictest rules around, follow them and you are good to go.
You should move this to the Racing section and sticky it there.
It is in the racing section, I thought only Mods could stick a post and update it?

Moved it to the Drag Racing section and stuck it.
Thanks sd!
I get the NHRA Rule Book every year so when it comes out I will update the thread
Yep, now you know where it is. Should be easy even for you to find it.
LOL!
