Just keep trying. Make up some cards yourself. Cental Valley did that 2 summers ago and we had about 5 devoted guys. I think they picked up a few more this summer. Plus alot of them are back from cruise. I am sure they are running strong now.. Just keep pushin

Emilio,

Send me anything (files) you have for stickers and I'll give copies to my marketing girliefriend here. She owes me big for all the crap I've done for them. I'll see what I can do. PM me and I'll give you ftp rights.

Stickers UPDATE

I just talked to my marketing buddy, and she gave me the name of the guy that does all our 4-color work here. He is starting a side thing up, and he has a killer connection for decals and stickers. According to him, the possibility exists that I will only have to pay for materials! I will keep you guys posted.

starting a chapter is alot of work, but as I saw from being in the central valley when they first started out it was just me and joe meeting in the parking lot, we talked with alot of people and the next week we went from 2 people to 4 then 5 etc.. now they are huge in numbers.the decal program emilio has opens with shadowscript, and you can google search the program so you can open it and save it as a bitmap in paint. As a bitmap, just about anyone should be able to open it and print it.

I am using Adobe Illustrator CS3 to do all of my print work for everything I do. Illustrator and maybe QurkExpress are the defacto standards for high resolution print prep work. If there is something better out there, please let me know.

Thanks,

Jim

Just wanted to tell you guys not to get discuraged when starting a chapter up. It is always slow in the beginning. Even after that it is like a roller coaster. Like Emilio said sometime alot of people show and sometimes not. I cant tell you how many time Ive sat somewhere waiting and no one shows up. Or maybe just one or two. I have found that most people have way different work/school schedules (you cant please everyone. Pick a day to meet and stick with it). People are very hesitant to commit to something like a car club. If you are lucky you will get a few dedicated core members that take care of business. The rest just kind of come and go wich is fine cuz everyone is just here to have fun and enjoy each others company and our Stangs. I found that the business cards work very well. Must of them just get given away but if you pick up one person out of every 20 or so cards you give out your doing pretty good. I also gave cards to all of the core members of the group here in the Central Valley. This way if they are out and about and run into another enthusiast they can give them a card. Sticker Caution: Alot of time when someone shows up for one of your meetings etc... for the first time they want to put a sticker on their ride. I recommend that you have them come to a few meetings first. We made the mistake up here, of giving out stickers to a few first timers and then they never show up again (i guess they just wanted a cool sticker on their stang) problem being you dont you what they are out doing... Like getting DUI's, Wreckless driving etc.... Just giving the club a bad name. So be careful who you give those decals to. Thats all I can think of at the moment. I hope that helps you guys.
