Some time in 2002 I owned a 1991 GMC Syclone, Pretty much stock, had a ram air induction that ran under the front bumper, a pitbull chip, and that was about it if i can remember, truck ran high high 12's and sub 13's. So one night we were out by the belt-way in houston and there was a ton of us out there but no body was racing so me in my buddy who has a 87 t-top GT, got some bolt ons like aluminum fly wheel alum driveshaft, MSD ignition, CAI, and maybe a few other small bolt ons like dumped flows and headers i think. Anyways we decided to get things going and race well we had never raced before and he didnt want to look like an idiot and in his words "Lose to a little S-10" he knew what the truck was and knew what it was capable of so he asked for 10 cars, so since i really didnt care i was like sure what ever so we pull up i throw it in reverse and start backing up, he pulls up next to me and we spot him out his 10 cars. We get ready and the arm drop goes with in what felt like no time he was still spinnning off the line and i was passing him. by the time i had hit 80, i had 10 cars on him. once we were at about 100 he was catching up and at 120 we were door to door and i shut it down and was coasting , while he proceeded. Anyways we get back to our spot and everyone gathers around the syclone and is like "WTF is that thing" no one even knew what it was, i had people comming up asking me if i had a chevy 350 in it, all i could say was "nah man ill i got in this is a little old 4.3 v6" little did they know the truck was pushing out 14lbs of boost with the pitbull chip in it. lol That is one of my funniest.
(syclone again) Sometime in 2002 i was out at a place called rankin road it was a spot where we all used to meet and pretty much u just pull get in line and race whatever is next to you. So i get in line first thing i destroy'd was a 90's model 3000GT VR4 with no problems and next i lined up next to a 1999 Camaro SS, my buddy that was in the car i told him to get out cause i was like **** im gunna need that 10th of a second for this race. Armdrop pops and we take off right out the gate i had roughly 3-4 cars on him, right when i crossed the 1/4 mile his nose was at my doors. I had barely won that im not sure what all he had done but when i walked by his car later i saw a whisper lid and complete porla exhaust.
(silver SVO transplanted a built 306 into it) I was driving down the feeder roads and get stopped a stop light and what pulls next to me? a 1999 turbo porsche. and his lane goes for about 1/8 of a mile then merges into mine so i look over at him and just kinda nod and he smiles looks down at the car laughs and shakes his head...Kinda like he was discusted that i would even think about not letting him over. so light goes green we both take off neck and neck all the way down...(I wasnt gunna budge) next thing u know were hitting about 80-90mph by the time we get to the merge and he slams on the on the brakes and gets behind me. we get to the next light and it cuts back over, he gets next to me rolls down the window and proceeds call me an asshole for not letting him over.
(buddies 90GT, i was passenger, built 347 with about a 200 shot of nitrous) pull up to a light on HW6 in houston. a brand new 2002 ZO6 pulls up, my buddy chris ravs the engine a couple times letting him know lets do this the guy rolls down the window and starts calling chris's car a piece of ****. Chris replies " Mother ****er i will drag that cars ass all the way down the 1320" so then the vette guy now really has something to prove. Light goes green and we take off instantly grabbing 2 cars, we hit about 130ish and the z06 was about 4 cars behind. we hit the next light and the z06 guy starts to give chris props on his car =) all i can think of for now.
