I was told by someone here at WS that these batteries are grossly overrated. Don't know if that's true but I recently paid $55 for a 1024 Cold Cranking Amp battery for my truck. What makes these so darned expensive?

I think the $50 offer is pretty fair.

Sorry Bee Jay.... I personally have a Red top and have always had them in my cars but quite honestly I believe that it is just all hype because they are no better than any other battery IMHO.

i dissagree. they are spillproof for one and can be mounted in any direction, and the one in my mustang died when i re-did my interior. i left the doors open for like 3 weeks. there was nothing left in that battery. no interior light, gauges, nothing. then i jumped it and drove it awhile, and jumped it again the next day and now its perfect again. never seen another battery do that. plus they look really good in your engine bay

OK they do look better and the mounting capabilities rock but I have have had to replace all of mine Battery wise just the same.
