Another Wicked Fox in the making. I can not wait to see the numbers after the engine is complete.

Well, I was gonna take the 79 F250 to Irwindale and the Dizzy fried while idling, so my evening became free and I got to work on cleaning up parts.

I FOUND A COMPANY ONLINE http://www.automotivetouchup.com/

THEY SELL REALLY GREAT TOUCH UP PAINT TO MATCH YOUR PAINT CODE, AS WELL AS CLEAR COATS AND PLASTIC/BUMPER PAINTS. I WILL USE IT TO TOUCH UP THE ENGINE BAY

HERE'S A SAMPLE OF WHAT I SPRAYED TO TEST

Coming along nicely Tommy. The difference will be in the details and it looks like you're doing it right. Any updates on the engine??

The engine is coming along. I was there on Tuesday (forgot my camera) and the block was next in line to get honed out. It was as shiny as a new nickel!

All the internals were looking sweet sitting on a work bench. They'll look better in the block!

I'm still waiting on heads. He thought he had some Twisted Wedge or some 351W heads, but none. I'm going to look at a set today in Orange County.

papa, about the comment on the oil cooler, did you find a source for the lines, or are you going to take standard line and try to bed it?

bed it? what's that?

The only lines I saw to the cooler are normal looking coolant hoses from the water pump to cooler, then cooler to heater feed tube. The ones that were on were in great shape and will re-use them. Even if I had to use generic cut-to-length hoses, it would work fine. I'm not familiar with these SSP coolers, if there are other parts which have been removed, I wouldn't know. You mentioned plastic moving pieces, but I saw nothing like that anywhere.

I got 95 spindles for the front with 03 Cobra brakes, and for the back, our WS member jj89gt was generous in providing me a Lincoln disc rear end. I will get this all done next week and post up pictures.

no, i mentioned my lines were bent and fit back and out of the way, and seemed to be bent pretty specifically for the purpose of the cooler. this kept them off of moving pieces.

so the detail begins while the meat-n-potatoes are being put together.

Today I:

-bought the rear brake lines and e-brake cables for the Lincoln rear setup
-continued cleaning up the engine bay. I took care of a little surface rust issue under the battery tray, as well as surface rust on the little bolts and screws all around the engine compartment. Put them all on a wire wheel and refinished them with black rustoleum paint.

I used the paint I bought from www.automotivetouchup.com . I know that Ford used a non-clear color in the engine bay, but I just went ahead and used the metallic paint along with a couple of coats of clear. Still need to do the firewall side, maybe.

I removed the decals from the front core support to re-attach them later. Surface was beat up.

YOU CAN SEE SURFACE RUST JUST BELOW THE MASKING TAPE
