Thought you all might enjoy these...

back in July, after a 10 day cross country road trip I stopped at Shelby Autos in Vegas. I snapped a few pics although they don't allow pics to be taken in the assembly area. You'll see a Silver GT500 being converted to a GT500KR, a black Supersnake in progress and a completed Grabber Orange Supersnake. Also, the very first Shelby Cobra ever produced. Still has the original leather interior. Carrol Shelby warned that if the leather was ever changed, they better leave thier resignation letter on his desk :)

Hey, what if WS gets together for a Vegas cruise, spends a day at Shelby Autos (they have a cafe too), then hit the strip!!!

Hey Tom, I like that idea. I always wanted to go check out the place. They have a museum there but I saw it was being remodeled. Any idea if thats reopened yet?

But I'm in for a cruise to Vegas. Would be fun.

Yeah, Museum is open and they have daily tours starting throughout the day. A block away they now have the Shelby Corner Cafe. That cafe is awesome!! They have actual Shelby hoods hanging on the walls, Cobra valve covers as lamp shades next to the booth tables, b&w 60's pictures of Shebly history as placemats....just lots of car parts used as tableware and decorations. check out the pic here.... http://www.shelbyautos.com/galleries/CafeOpening/CafeOpening17-800.jpg

That is cool.

I was planning on going in October, but saw the museum was closed for remodeling. I was just waiting for it to reopen and good weather.

I hope I'm able to go. I was there for his 80th. Lots of fun. With kids karate, the other kids wrestling and my stepsons baseball, keeps me busy. I hope the schedule opens up.
