Please think twice before racing on roads

This is just another example of the consequences of illegal speeds on public roads.

It frightens me to think that my first born son will be driving soon.

I, as most of you, enjoy the thrill of speed and torque however please consider reserving the "kills" for the track. By doing so we may be keeping ourselves, loved ones or innocent souls from injury or worse.

I came across this video and thought of it as a reminder of our fragile human existence.

man that sucks, look out for ur kid my advise get them a ford escort top speed 80mph lol or u can get them a mustang v6 with a set off 4.10 or 3.73 ratios for way less top speed

mustangs are actually the best cars for front end accidents, every one i know that has wrecked in a mustang has came out alive and unhurt very safe cars they can handle abuse and a 3ton car hitting u

that really sux..i dont do any illegal racin anymore,too dangerous,,nice post..makes u think b4 u race illegally

Actually, the capri tops out at about 118, and the escort I got to 124 and I backed off because I don't have high rated tires. These are both i4's...

My advice would be to tell your kid not to drive like a douche, and if they do they lose their car until they start paying for all of it and they're insurance and have their own house.

I hear ya. I still find myself having to back off a bit, most of the time I just set the cruise at 5mph above the speed limit. I've never had a problem with passing chp cruisers at that speed. Just set it and forget it!

Ya know what??????? I am tired of watching these types of video's and being a hipocrite. We all say dont street race, dont drive fast, Dont do highway pulls in traffic. Has anyone ever really set back and thought about how often WE ALL do this????? Even in my ill fated OJ Simpson Bronco I look down and see 85 which really means 95 lol. We all say dont do it but damned near everyone of us will not hesitate to put someones life at risk to prove who has the faster car!!!!!!! I have played with most everyone on the road and I have to say that it was the Barona accident that really woke me up. I dont know if I want to race again without a cage now!!!!!!!! It does not even have to be your fault!!!! If that car would have hit me like he did the Honda, I would be dead right now laughing at all you trying to catch a Terminator. My point here is....Dont make post or threads acting like you have never done it or wont do it again without actually selling your car and buying a Yugo cause given the opportunity you will do it again!!!! I include myself into this as well. Now with that being said I have seen many races where I was like WTF are they doing because it was really dangerous with the conditions present, and I have seen ones where the only lives in danger were the ones that decided that it was worth the risk. Either way if we are going to say Do Not Street Race then we as a club can NOT do it at all!

Yose, you are so right with your post. I for one is a lead foot and I don't think I will ever change regarding that. But for the street racing part, I pledge I will not do that again. I don't care if someone do a fly by or rev on me, I will pledge to do all racing on the track. If someone wants to be stupid and risk their safety, they can do it by themselves.

My 97 GT was wrecked in 2000 by a woman running a light, hitting the car ahead of me and both spinning into me. The pascagoula police told me it was a combined impact of over 85mph (I was doin 45). car was unrecognisable, but, Thanks be to GOD and the ford motor company, I walked away unhurt!
All the safety features (crumplezone, airbag, etc...) worked exactly as advertised. My boy is getting a Mustang when he is old enough to drive!

that or buy a sct sf3 tunner...get better gas mileage and can be governed down to 60-65 mph.
