Power upgrades and dyno run done on Bullitt

I just picked up my Bullitt from JB Racing here in San Diego for a base dyno run and some power upgrades including Steeda UDPs,JBA shorty headers a plasma booster and a custom tune.The first thing I noticed is more exhaust growl from the headers,it seems a little throatier and a little louder.The second thing is throttle response which is much quicker and the engine wants to rev quicker from right off idle.Traffic was very heavy on the way back to work so I can't give an overall impression but I am impressed with the dyno numbers.
These were done on a DYNO DYNAMICS load bearing dyno and the folks at JBA claim that it's more conservative than Dynojet and some others.
Stock numbers were 296 rwhp @5458 rpm and 316lbs rwtq @4366 rpm.
After the upgrades the hp was 341 rwhp @6421 rpms and 348lbs rwtq @4430 rpms.
I'll give you all a full impression on how it drives after this weekend .

Wow the Bullitt put down 296 Stock huh......

My regular GT put down 260 HP and 280 TQ.....Even with the Ford Racing Power pack they install on the Bullitt it seems like the numbers were high for stock. I could be wrong though. As I have been told the FRPP Power Pack adds upto 25 RWHP....Maybe mine was just a low. I have heard that JBA runs higher than others though.


Great gain on the parts and sounds like you got a beast. Enjoy it.

Supposedly.....We will see on the 18th. My TBSS should put down 330 ish to the wheels. Any higher and they havent fixed it.


Let us know how she drives over the weekend! I cant wait to hear it with those additions.

either way im sure he will love his upgrades and the feel of the car. dont listen to gibs he is just jealous :p

at least yer cars are on the road :crys:

Not jealous but definately in awe at the Bullitts.....I love that car. If I had known they were coming out with them, I would have waited 9 months then got a black Bullitt. They are nice.

I agree he will like the upgrades. No matter what the base dyno was he gained 45 HP so that is really good....

I want to hear the exhaust on it though. Now I may be jealous of that sound.

Hey,thanks for the feedback-the stock numbers did seem high,even for the Bullitt,but I'm happy with the 45hp gain(they told me I should get 40-50)so they were right in line.Unfortunately now my son Ethan(IgottaV6)is begging me for money for upgrades,he says he wants 340 rwp too!On the v6 where should we start?

Very nice numbers! Well even if dyno is off just go back to same Dyno that is what you want to do anyway that way get the numbers for performance added... As far as 340 out of your sons ride I would say add a S/C or NOS
