Let me tell you what happened when I was racing a SRT-4 (at least I think that it was)... ok I am right behind him, I am hoping it will be close, I go to shift to 3rd and in the excitement I shift into 5th instead. Needless to say, I feel really emberrased. Oh, and when I got to the pit they said I needed pants to race, which I had no idea. Luckily a guy there had a pare of pants (clean) and I had to pay 10 dollars to rent them. lol. I won't make that mistake again.
quit waiting for the green light. you should go when the 3rd light is illuminated. then see where your r/t is. for instance i break the light into 3 parts. illuminating, illuminated, and extinguishing. if i go on illuminated and my rt is .70 then i will go when it is illuminating. if i wouldve pulled a .40 then i would go when it starts to extinguish. you cant change how long you react, only when you react. if you wait for the green light, your gonna chase tail lights.
ok, you made that way too complicated. basically what he is saying is once you see that last yellow come on launch. thats how you get the perfect .5 r/t
break the last light up into three stages. lighting up, lit, and extinguishing.
go on "lit" and see where your time is. if its slow like a .80 or 1.0, launch at "lighting up" if its fast(redlight) launch at "extinguishing"
