I had a fox body (90) stang that went from spinning tires with automatic to going sideways when smashed. Probaly frees up about 15 hp it slows your acc. down on your motor. That is what frees up power

Agreed... pulleys made a big difference on my '06 GT without adding any cooling or charging problems as well.
