Emelio, I have been wondering what happens to all the new members that sign up only to be welcomed by all of, us only to never log on again? I try to welcome everyone but come on now. We get like 20 a day and out of the 20 19.5999999999999 never even answer or post at all. I know we all chip in to make the band width bigger and improve the site and all but dont these accounts take up space? I was and still am kind of pissed that my garage got taken away.....for what????? So people can log on and never actually become part of the Wicked Stangs Family? I honestly am sorry I can not contribute more money to the site but with the wife unemployed things are kind of tight right now. I know I can make up with it in other ways such as helping on installs and such when I get back. Sorry man this just has been eating at me and I cant just call ya up. If I put this in the wrong section I am sorry!

This is the perfect place for this... James you know you can click on there name and see if they are active or not.. But, for your info the system will automatically after a number of days put the none active users in a none active file..I can delete them or leave them alone because the minute they log on again they go back to an active status. That is why I put that pay system on here.. So we will not have guys just sign on post up stuff and leave.. You have to donate to upload anything. :)

I see where James is coming from. Even if they are inactive, would they still be taking up bandwidth or its just when they are logged on? If they take up space when inactive could we just delete their account, say after a month or so not logged on?

Ok, that case then they are of no concern. But I still think if they are inactive after a month they should be deleted and have to sign on again. Of course, we can make exception to those who are deployed or known to be deployed (can you do that?). Since they are or would be the most active users anyway since we know they are deploying. All others, well, they can sign on again if they want to be part of it.

Yes I can do that...

I think they should be left in the inactive slot for 3 months before the account get deleted for good. And be sent 3 pm by Emilio or another moderator before the account gets deleted. Like one pm a month and on the forth month delete them if they dont repond. Some people would rather chat and pm than to post.

Registered Users 512
Donator 61
Silver Supporter 14

Out of those 405 members remember if they are not logged in for 30days to go to that Banned List.. etc members on west pack and so forth... When they log in they get put back in their perspective user group..

I might be able to set it up to send emails to inactive users...

I think that would be good. Atl's idea is also reasonable, but I think 2 would be enough. If they PM or go to the chatroom, they would remain active since they have to log on. Its those "one hit wonders" I think we would like to get taken off.

Thats a good idea. If there's a way to do it automatically, it'll take the footwork out of having to keep up with it.

I might be able to set it up to send emails to inactive users...

I was going to suggest that. Automate the process so, as ATLBLUE98GT said, they receive a message once a month (for 3 months) advising them that without participation online, their account will expire and they will be deleted.

This gives them EVERY chance in the world to log in and maintain their account.

If they can't find time for that, then maybe they aren't WS material?

I agree. This site is for those that stay active. Maybe the email could start off by "Wicked Stangs missed you". Just trying to help.

Yeah that's what I was talking about. Thanks for clarifying things for me Emelio. I am not the best at computers and it has been bugging me. What is with all the newbies signing up and not logging back on. I have seen a few of them get banned for advertising right of the bat. It seems they are doing it more now. This could mean we are getting our name out there more and people are starting to nitice lol. Anyways thanks for letting me know what was up. When I can I will donate to the site!
