After just over three years of operation, Renegade Performance Mustang and Motorsports is closing its doors. I visited Ed Howard today at the shop, and he is tossing in the towel. He told me tomorrow is their last day.

During it's heyday, RPMM performed many an install and dyno tune. This shop was founded around the talents of Greg Rentis and Wes Northorp, who had worked together at JBA. Some might say the writing was on the wall after RPMM re-organized with new staff early last year after both Greg and Wes left for greener pastures.

The original shop was located off of Kurtz street, but was moved to the current location on Marindustry back in March of 2010. For two solid years this group did a ton of work on hundreds of local enthusiasts late model performance cars. The threads on this forum, and the extensive Blog on their website (which is still up at the moment) are a great testament to the work they did on many of our cars over the last few years.

It's always a loss when we have fewer options for having major upgrades done to our cars by performance specialist. I only started having work done on my car there AFTER the re-organization, and I was very pleased with the result.

Farewell RPMM, you will be missed!

P.S. I guess that means their ad banner can be removed from our site, and this Vendor sub-forum can be archived. Of course, you can confirm this with Ed first.

P.P.S I was at the shop today to go over my car in preparation for my trip to Willow Springs this weekend. I had a short list of things to check and do, but having access to a lift and air tools made quick work of simple tasks.
  • Lubricated front and rear sway bars, panhard bar, and LCA's
  • Re-torqued panhard bar, and LCA bolts
  • Reset steering shaft joint to remove pre-load (wheel was "stiff")
  • Air-chiseled off some locking wheel lugs after the darn key broke
  • Relocated front sway bar links to middle position for better front roll control
  • Re-torqued all lug nuts
All of this took about two hours. When we were done, Ed did not charge me for his time, the use of his tools, or his shop. Thank you Ed!
