Rear End Sways back and Forth at High Speeds

hey i'm new to the site but i'm coming back off deployment and its time to fix the problem i left with. it's a 99 cobra vert. w/eibach lowering springs, frpp shorty headers, novi 1000 kit, bassani x w/cats, magnaflow catback, mm subframe connectors, heavy duty irs brace, light bar, 18" y2k rims w/nitto 555's. thats about it. but i've read other people having the same problem, like when i shift hard into third or forth the back of the car sways like if ur on a streetbike and get caught in the cross winds behind a tractor trailer, and it also happens right around 135 mph and gets worse the faster i go and by 155 to 160 it feels like the tires are about to break loose which definitely not good. i have irs subframe poly bushing but i still have to install them. the tires are pretty much brand new, i could check the lugs and the shock mounts but i dont get off the boat until the 30th of may. so in short if u have had this problem or know someone who has please let me know what fixed the problem, plus the car only has 14k miles on it. thanks

low_going we have another member with the same problem with an 01Cobra sound like the IRS only thing in common. I have been in the car with him and if feels wierd.. I am trying to figure it out. By any chance did you have any tranny work or clutch installed recently. Also when you put your car in gear can you feel it throughout the entire car like a little clunk?

Rear Trailing Arm

low_going, The rear end will actually swing back and forth. If your trailing arm bushings are bad, you'll need a special tool to take them out and press them back in. You might want to check them out. Have you installed new control arms?

it's been about 9 months since i've been in it. i don't remember a clunk or anything like that. i didn't check the bushings but i'll be back on the 30th of may so i'll start there. thanks

as for the tranny and clutch i bought it with 12,700 miles but it did have a novi 1000 so i'm guessing maybe a new clutch but don't think the guy touched the tranny.

Simple Fix

I have and 04 Cobra that developed the same problem. Just tighten both rear axle nuts. one has worked its way loose. This problem is a common one that has pooped up in the irs cars. easy fix.
