Review of The Dyno Shop(RANT)

Phil and I saw these guys at the Coronado Speed Festival today. It was 2 pulls for $50.00. Which was not a bad price. Steer clear though as they scared everyone there while DYNOing a MX-5 Miata. First off they let the guy pull onto the ramps with half his front tire off the ramp. When we mentioned it to the one guy he said oh no big deal we will tell him to turn it to get it on the ramp before he drives off. He also said this is a weak little engine and he was not worried about it. Next they had the tie downs to the front of the car not all the way tight. Then there were no tie downs to the back of the car at all. As they accelerated the car it started to pull off the back roller. At that point with the rear wheels only on 1 of the two rollers the back of the car started to sway a little back and forth on the front roller. This evolution was completely unsafe for those around and was not in the best interest of the owners car. This WEAK LITTLE ENGINE had a turbo and put down around 200 HP. I am not saying that is alot but it was underestimated I think.

I do not know if this is how they do things back in the shop but if so I do not recommend them for any work on your vehicle. I will gladly pay more to go somewhere else.

Thanks for listening.

Gib,

Franklly, I loved your rant... I would sooner believe ANYone here about an unsafe or poor business practice than I would anywhere else. You are dead on to bitch about this kinda of thing... you might have just saved someone's safety, vehicle or even their lives if that thing would have let go at WOT... ;)
