Rubbing Sound......

Need you guys' help. Last night after my last run, I'm hearing rubbing sound coming from my front wheels. It is a pretty loud rubbing noise when I'm rolling. I'm wondering if that is from my brakes. I don't believe its the caliper cover rubbing, there seems to be plenty of clearance from the rims. So, could this sound be my pads are breaking apart or is it just hot from the run. I could still hear it when I got home and the pads are only about 5 months old.

I don't think the racing would have done anything to the front pads. I would jack it up and free spin the wheels to see if you can hear it and then go from there.

Wondering where I am!?!?
Rubber from the track could have made it up into the front calipers, wheel well, and the rims/tires.

That **** will stick to just about anything.

As said before, jack up the front, spin a tire and see/hear where the rub is.

Sound to me like a wheel bearing Mustang are notorious for that...

If its a wheel bearing you can jack up the car and spin the wheel and hear it...

It sounds like it only does that after high speed. When I was driving slow, there's nothing. But after I got off the freeway, the rubbing sounds came back.

Get it under the jack and give us an update.

I'll get it on Jack tomorrow after work and update here.

I had the pads for about 5 months and it didn't make any noise before.

Ya didnt happen to run over anything ....did you????? Maybe a S.D. hooker, cat or aminal?

LOL!......I don't think so, maybe a hooker, wouldn't be surprise in that area.

I'm going to put it on the jack tomorrow and spin it like several suggested in earlier post. Hoping it may just be debris from the track stuck in the calipers.
I'm thinking its a good thing that I'm not feeling rattlings or pullings.

Ok, I jack the car up and spun the wheels. The sound I hear is a rubbing sound coming from between the pad and rotor. I don't hear any other sound coming from any other part of the wheel. Could that just be debris stuck between it? If it is, what is recommended to clean it out?

Disassemble and spray the hell out of them with brake clean. Make certain to apply some caliper grease.

There is no Buying the front Bearing you have to purchase the entire hub assemble with a NEW nut!!! I recommend using red lock-tight on that nut!!!

Well I'll try cleaning it first then if that don't work then I guess I'll be replacing the bearing. If that's the case, will be asking for you guy's assistance.

Wheel Bearings aren't difficult to replace. Greasing them is where you have to take your time to do it right.
