He charges a flat rate of $350.00 to the best of my knowledge. He will have your car tuned RIGHT within two pulls on the dyno....yes he is that damned good! As for the intercooler question.... I do not believe that you will need a new tune. You might be able to squeeze a few more horses outta it because of cooler air temps but just adding the intercooler should not require a new tune.

dude i hope you got some money put aside. the blower is the easy part. once you start the install you are gonna find, especially if its used, a LOT of hidden expenses. make lists, shop around, putting a blower on is big project. i put mine on about a month ago and i still working out kinks here and there.

I'm not sure about the tune either but I have been told by two shops AND Whipple that the tune for my car (NON intercooled) and the same car intercooled uses a different tune. What's different? As was explained to me, fuel management is changed to a higher rate of delivery since the incoming air is cooled and therefore more dense. The denser and cooler the air, the more of it there is and it stands to reason, you will need more fuel or risk running lean.

That's how it was explained to me.

I did a lot of research on this and wanted an intercooler kit for my car (auto trans) but Whipple didn't offer it. They said I could fanagle the manual trans kit onto my car, along with DOUBLE fuel pumps in the gas tank, wiring new relays for the pumps and it wouldn't do me any good because they didn't have a tune for an intercooled automatic GT.

The mere fact that the intercooled setup from at least THIS manufacturer requires a different tune might be indicative of the other manufacturers as well.

More and colder air needs more gas. More gas means tweaking the tune.

By how much? I don't know! Might even mean a jump to bigger injectors and that too requires a tweak of the tune.

Hey, pretty good for an old fart stoned on Vicodin, eh? LOL

that is decent rate but i'll see if he uses the diablo first because anything to save money is a plus but if i have to go with Sct i wont even think twice about it. Im already waist deep with the supercharger and the minor add ons with it.

Sell the Diablo online because most of the east coast use them. To the best of my knowledge the only place local that tunes Diablo (CRAP) is the Dyno shop out of Santee and I have had a (1) bad experiance with them so it's your call on that one. Speaking of which.... I have a diablo switch chip in my garage collecting dust for a 2000 ish maybe late 90's GT. If ya want it come get it for some beers lol!

Maverick what blower did put on and how much did you make at the wheels?
kenne bell 2.1 intercooled. the only bolt on that matters if you own a gt.lol. it put donw 401 rwhp and 408 ftlbs of torque with a shit ass tune. ive got an appointment with greg at 10am, i will post up better numbers tomorrow. mind you its a stock shortblock and i am going conservative, even with greg i dont more than 420rwhp at the wheels, i got a stock block and i dont want to push it. i will tell you this of the kenne bell, it makes peak boost at about 2500rpms. i love that damn thing. i also spent a lot of cash, about 6k on the blower and cold air kit with 90mm maff. all in all about a $1000 for a tune, then prolly a few hundred in parts for dumb shit. going to forced induction is big step and once you make it nothing is cheap anymore. i just bought slicks and now i am beefing up my suspension MORE because it wont hook even though i have huge ass nitto 555 extremes on it.

Dude.....true story.... I actually got pulled over by a cop because he could not figure out why the ass end of my car raised up atleast three inches every time i let the clutch out. I told him I had traction/lift bars and he asked where from. Turns out he owned a Mustang GT and he bought a set the next day. We remained friends until I left Va Beach!
