well got a programmer but i cant use it..... sense it has had a custom tune in it once before for a 04 cobra.... I have to have another custom tune put in to beable to use it on the mach.... So once i get about 400 bucks i will be doing a off road x pipe, PHP intake spacer, and a custom tune from rwtd.com!!

I really want headers but wont get those till the begining of next year......

Hey Andy you cant get a hold of SCT and have them make a tune and send it by e-mail? I know that Diablo will do custom tunes and send by e-mail.

thie is what SCT sent to me in a EMAIL!

Your device was custom tuned to your 04 cobra and to that vehicle only. No index file means that there are no tune files on the unit since you erased them. You will need to get custom tune files for you new car which will be different from the files for your cobra since the processors are different.

Yeah but what happens after 6 mon? You have to pay 75$ again or what ever tune you like you can keep?

the ones from the website are kinda generic and you will be able to keep them after the 6 months. The only bad thing is when ot comes time that you change something in the engine that requires a tune It will have to be done on the laptop and then you will have to pay the 250 then as well. Thats why Steve gives a free custom tune if you buy from him plus you have the 3 pretunes that his tuners come with.

75 bucks for 6 months or 125 for 1 year.... after that its 75 bucks for 6 months and 125 for a year, ethier way its cheaper the steve.....but steve will dyno tune and ti will be right right away..... Or I get a custom to from Running with the devils and then we hook up Turbo Joes laptop and datalog and ajust acordingly

how is he able to give you a custom with the 3 presets..... once you do a custom tune on the sct it makes it a 9400 from a 9415...

you basically said it right there. a mail / internet order tune will work, but having it dyno tuned is the best way to go. cause that means the tune is specific for your stang. ( duh! :p )

i just got an sct myself cause i got my gears / t-lok installed and my speedo is WAY off. coming home from steve's, it said i was doing 90 in the slow lane all while cars were going past me.

the person i got my sct from is one of my online friends named justin from vmptuning.com ( plug  ). he has a 10 second 00 v6 stang (stock bottom end  ), so i think he'll be able to make a decent tune for me.

BUT, i am waiting for a dyno day to get the best tune i can for my ride. :D

First of all you don't get to tune on a dyno day...... the custom tunes from Running With the Devil are specific to my stang.... The guy i got the Sct2 from has a 500 HP 04 Cobra with a tune from Running with the devil.....and how is the 250 dollar dyno tune a better way to go when i can get the same tune with a little bit of time for 75 bucks..... a little data logging and bam im done..... Sounds like you guys have more money then you know what to do with....lol I can save 175 bucks to go with RWTD, but you guys think it is better to go waste 250 at xtreme...you guys are nuts, Oh and send me a link to the 10 sec. V6 with stock bottom end....

From what i know nethier of you have had a dyno tune or a internet tune so how are you two going to say one is better then the other!!!!

i've always been told a dyno tune is better than an internet tune. and it's not because it's more money. the tune you get from the internet is NOT specific to your car. it is made with your computer code and with the mods you tell the company you have, but they don't have your car to work with. if someone has your car and knows what they are doing, the tune they make for your car SHOULD be better than a tune from someone who has never worked with your car.

about my friend justin's 10 second v6 mustang, here's his timeslip:

http://v6power.net/timeslips/slip291.jpg

and here's him making the run:

http://www.v6power.net/images/justin/v2/109.wmv

his stang's specs:

00 Mustang 3.8 w/ VMP TT Kit - 450RWHP/475RWTQ @ 17psi stock motor
10.996@127.87 w/1.74 60ft @ 17psi stock motor

spec source (check post 6)

from what i've been told, he has stock heads, cams, and the stock block..

Not trying to argue with you Andy I think your just better off waiting til you can get a dyno tune done to your car.why pay the 75 when your gonna have it dyno tuned later. You will pay an extra 75 bucks thats all Im trying to say. Mine has been tuned many times on the laptop and once on the dyno.

well you use a laptop on the dyno right?? so why would it be different.... I'm not trying to argue or be an ass im just saying when I can get a tune from the net with out having to drive to fresno and back i see this internet tune being a hole lot easier... I mean really with the mods i have i dont even need a tune... Shit phils car had a tune and a bunch of other shit and it didnt really make that big of a difference... Once they send me a tune and I datalog (sounds fun) then send it back to them and they ajust acordingly I dont see it being any different from going to steve and him dyno tuning it... I feel the real road condition being better then a Dyno putting a load on it.... and I think 250 is alot.... If anything i can go to percion and rent the dyno for 1 hour for 100 bucks and tune with a lab top and SCT2 myself..... 250 just seems like a lot.... nothing against steve i know he is trying to make money for his time, but I feel i can do it myself...................

If you went to Justin you still would be going through Steve cause hes the one with SCT's software. But I understand what your saying and I do agree yes it is cheaper to do the internet version. Im not trying to say you have to go through Steve but let me see if I can tell you the diffrence as best I can. Basically what Phil had was a base tune from Diablio that is just generated by Diablio based on their cars that was safe within all their cars cause all cars react different. On a dyno tune the tune is adjusted with timing to its most efficent and powerful ablity that is still safe by how your specific cars AFR is. You are not modded or supercharged so the $75 tune will probably be just fine for your car. But it is still a genaric tune. Thats all i was trying to tell you. But if you were gonna do the dyno like you were originally planing is why i was saying just wait.
