yose....they only cut the fy10 budget by like 40mil. bonuses should be about the same....well, thats what the jammer is tellin me...

lotsa people would re-enlist for $0, **** when i first did my package i thought they were gone, but that bonus is a nice DP on a house and i really hope they stay
i wish i had only lost 25k... im sitting in school, waiting to get my new NEC and i just watched my 43,500 bonus(for 3.5 years) disappear...

Its ok man. At least your getting one. I wasn't going to recieve one, tried to cross rate to something else to at least enjoy my job yet was told that i can only reenlist as my current rate for needs of the navy orders.

this is how they destroy a good country. defund the military, have everyone overseas fighting and dieing on 2 or more fronts (for no reason), destabilize the country with phoney and unrealistic problems, money, and non issues caused by and blown out of proportion by the feds. ( you don't really think the world went tits up back in august by accident?)
And then elect some foreign born IDIOT puppet as President.!!

Sorry, I just can't stand seeing this country and it's military being "SCREWED" !!:nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono:

every time something like this happens i think to my self FTN....LOL

i try to think that, then i remember during an economic downturn, i have a house, an apartment, a mustang, a motorcycle, a super duty, food on the table, a happy family, money and the bank, and im not even the slightest worried about losing any of it.

The navy dude, the easiest job you'll ever hate. if you honestly believe this bull**** doesnt happen in corporate america, think again.

My wifes company, a publicly traded company mind you, has suspsended all bonus's(sound familiar) is forcing unpaid time, and just cut all salary by 4-10%..

I work for the county. We no longer get paid cash OT. All our OTs are in comp time only. We just had 12 officers demoted and more coming. Its a bad time to get out.

No matter how bad the navy is, its a steady income and you will dealing with the same crap in the civilian world.

i was 2 weeks from my EAOS when i figured this out... thankfully i figured it out then and not afterwards. Its an easy job, with free money for the rest of your life when its over. and thanks to the new post 9-11 veterans education thingie, it'll pay for my wifes masters so she can make me more money

veterans education thingie???? you mean GI bill??

the new bit isnt called the gi bill, its called the post 9-11 veterans education fund

or the Post 9-11 GI-bill, but it is different than the old one.
I recruited for 4 years and had to learn a lot about these things to use as selling points

i think its a waste of money, as awesome as it is. its going to make more people get out of the service. they want to spend money on the servicemmebers, spend it on us while were active. just my thoughts

how many air force bases have you been to? The one i lived by for the past 4 years was no nicer than any navy base I have seen. Although i havent spent much time on marine bases. The quality of life is slowly improving, in the 10 years i've been in, i've seen quite a few improvements

I personally think its a fantastic time to get out if you dont have anything tieing you to any specific place. I have two cars, a family and i want to goto school. i hate the job i do because i am 100% unable to enjoy it. I have never been recognized as anything other than a **** bag because I am unwilling to put forth the effort required to out shine the best. It is not possible for me to fake enjoying the job to get the appearance of being the best. That is a horrible miserable life.

I did what i could to try and change that fact, i tried to cross rate to CTN. they told me in the beginning that i needed my ESWS, so i got it in 4 weeks. Come back and that all changed. it became " you may reenlist as a GSE FOR NEEDS OF THE NAVY ORDERS" I wouldn't even be able to pick my own orders any more. what Garbage!

I'm setup to get out by using the post 911 fund. I get to goto school full time, get an internship some where and be able to provide for my family.

besides the GI bill isn't paid for by the military, its a veterans benefit.

your GSE and you dont like it?? are we talking about 2 different GSE's??

ive been to several AF bases.....in CONUS and FWD deployed. in the rear its a little better, things like their chowhall and community areas are nicer. however in the middle east they live like kings. they can drink every day and they party all night.
